New Job, dirty truck!

I have now completed 4 weeks training at my new place. Last week i asked what vehicle I was having and was told that they were sorting a truck for me. have been given the keys to my new home today, a V reg Daf CF65 210! Don’t think it has been a one carefull owner vehicle! Two hours cleaning today and more to do tomorow! Will be interested to see how gutless it is when loaded with 6 cars!!! Anyone else on transporters recommend a good sat nav or do you just use the truckers atlas?

no problems using this satnav ebay.co.uk/itm/5-inch-Truck- … 3cbec9bbc7

Haven’t used my sat nav in months. Just a good atlas, but there again I never venture into major town’s just open countryside and major roads for me.

What company is that for?

HBC’s ■■

Give them the keys back and ask them would they work in a [zb] all day ?

rgt1973 I did warn you when you asked about HBC that the vehicles were the same quality as vehicles you’ll be carrying.

Hope they have advised you of what route to take to the depot.

yeah right that will work :unamused:
perhaps he wants a job , and when proved his worth may get a decent truck

Just drive it and think of the money. Kerching £££££

Remember to take that old jerry can and a 8ft length of 1/2" plastic reinforced pipe…

Why should he settle for a heap of [zb] to drive, desperate for a job or not. If they thought anything of their drivers a reasonable state of cleanliness in a cab that you are expected to live in shouldn’t be too much to expect, or are we as drivers just expected to roll over and say nowt these days.

Agree with D4. Some ex colleagues can’t understand why I’m working where I am as I don’t have “my own” vehicle. True, but I’m on more money so sod what year the lorry is or if the cab’s dusty.

That is exactly it. If the OP doesn’t like it there is a queue of others waiting to do it, either because they want the work of the jobcentre are giving them ■■■■ for not applying

Right so today if you want to be a driver, just accept it, you snip off the ■■■■■■■■, bend over and apply the vaseline and brace yourself :unamused: , maybe it’s just me then

Some driver before him put it in that state…

Its not just drivers but pretty much any job these days. I’m trying to get out of driving but looking at other careers things are so regulated nowadays you need a ticket for wiping your own arse. eg jobs I have done in the past.

kitchen porter…need a hygene certificate
labourer…need a cscs
security guard…SiS clearence

(and these are the minimum wage jobs :unamused: )

perhaps they got fed up with giving new drivers new trucks to see them treated like crap :unamused: its not like the employer is making it a crap hole, its not like its one of the cleanest jobs going ,and its on a V plate so its had a good few drivers i would guess
like i said , if he sticks to the job and new truck will come along in the end
