I had the 105 SSC and was in the office waiting for CMR when you came in. I take it if you where in Brugge the other day it was Kolen Tomar.
Give us a flash next time you see me and maybe we can grab a coffee…oh forgot us tipper ( I prefer bulker) drivers don’t have time for coffee !!

If you’ve not done a search mate, then you’ll probably find these interesting… viewtopic.php?f=2&t=76989 viewtopic.php?f=2&t=88707 viewtopic.php?f=2&t=63608 viewtopic.php?f=2&t=37795
Same as every thread, if you can pick your way through the bullshizzle, there’s a lot of very good advice. (Especially my posts, obviously! )
Best of luck fella, it’s a good time of year to get started; hopefully the worst of the snow is behind us now, some ancient farmyards are bad enough to pick your way through without a covering of snow! Sounds like Robinsons are a pretty good bunch, you should enjoy it. I’ve always really enjoyed bulk work.
Get yourself a good pair of wellies if your going to be doing farms…nothing worse than tipping animal feed near the cow shed and getting cow muck all over your boots.
Always get the farmers number and ring for exact directions and entrance and always check the entry and exit are possible don’t just listen to “well we’ve had 1 in here before” to late when your stuck I learnt that lesson on my 2nd week and ended up stuck overnight in a field eventually got pulled out 10 am the next day.
If your unsure always ask another tipper driver most will help as we’ve all been there. I only started on bulker work last July and was unsure at first as to whether I would stick at it but love it now 90% of my work is in Europe so probably not as much chasing like guys in the UK but still max hours every day. I see some of Robinson’s on the train, so you never know you could even get some continental work too.
Take your time and enjoy.
JB yes it was ady he too had only just started for them. I sub for Eurobulk and most of the work is good and the Eurobulk drivers I’ve met are a good bunch of lads. I will put a pic on when I get home then you know who to look out for but if you see a white 105 SSC with spots on flashing then that will be me.
If you’re loading and tipping grain and its dry weather, make sure your cab windows, sunroof and air vents are closed or it’ll look like the Sahara has been dumped in your cab.
Always make sure the load is centred in the trailer, sand, stone etc is very easy to load to one side!
When tipping undo a cover strap or roll the cover up as the vacum of the load ejecting can ■■■■ the cover in and rip it or bend the cover support bars
Always open the door and walk back and start tipping rather than putting it in tip getting out and opening the door! Most new controls now have the safety feature that you have to hold it while tipping
Always watch for overhead cables they’re very easy to forget about
Got my first load ok, after sweeping out the trailer…a little bit on the light side but need to get used to what I can carry.
Arrived at my delivery to be told that they wouldn’t accept it as it was past 5 o’clock! Went looking for a ■■■■■■■■■■■■, passed 5 full lay bys, ended up in Crewe truckstop.
Rare for me as we don’t get parking paid but got ■■■■■■ off with searching for a lay by. Glad I did because the food was excellent and the facilities spotless! A little treat to myself!

Actually tipping at NWF, don’t the area that well so just headed back down the A51…
Parking is a bit short around there, you used to be able to park at the (now closed) petrol station 200m from the gate if you turn left.
Good luck, NWF can be a right pain with them letting their own trucks jump the queue to tip in front of you, with a bit of luck they might tip you in the blending shed.
