After 15 months of being on the dole I have finally found a job, I have not driven any thing bigger than a car in all that time and feel more nervous than when I first went out on my own over 7 years ago.
I start tomorrow and have a few worries about the job, the description of the advertised vacancy is nothing like the job I was told about at the interview. Time will tell.
Have the tacho regulations changed in the last 15 months ?
so what kinda driving job is it you’ve got and how do you reckon it is diffrent from the advert.
Regarding tacho rules changing in the last 15 months, nothing has changed except the new cpc which comes into force for exsiting drivers sept 2014 but yo got plenty of time to sort that out.
I have been in your position on more than one occasion and having been out of work for longer. Believe me, you will slip straight back into it, by the time you are 10 minutes up the road it will seem like you have never been away.

Advert says 4 nights from 7, interviewer says totally different times and hours. Did not push it to much as need the job. Think I just got some nerves working a bit to hard.
Well what a sack of ■■■■■ that turned out to be. Told at interview that it would be the odd night out which was really going to be 3 to 4 nights out. Wages being paid a week late and one driver putting £400 of fuel in truck because they had not paid bill on fuel card. If the current drivers are not happy I dam well know I will not be.
Walked away after 3 hours of working in the warehouse hand balling office furniture onto a trailer. I am not afraid of hard work, but am not going to be lied to.
I really can not understand why these companies oversell their jobs,I don’t suppose that the Jobcentre could care less, one less long term unemployed probably impresses someone. It’s a pity that someone can’t be taken to task for it.
job center try there best just to get you into employment goes well for there stats, i have never had a decent job off a jobcentre its always either by means of knocking on doors or having a mate put in a good word, but also it must be hard to get motivated after being on the rock n roll for 15months its hard too get back to work.
