New Holiday Entitlement Law - anyone in the know?

Ow am ya doowin ! Black Country Born Sharky The Shredder here, first post, new to forums, so forgive me if it all goes pear-shaped.

Just trying to find out answer to a query on the above law, which became law as of Oct 07.

Working for a large chilled/ambient distrib who hasnt made a decision on what it should do yet ( apart from giving us all the initial 1 day last year ) they still havnt told us who will get an extra 4 days from Jan 1st 08, there seems to be a query that if you do 5 on 3 off then you get enough time off anyway so wont get anything extra, whereas those on 5 on 2 off might get something, even thought both the shift patterns are on the same contract ie: same money, same holidays ( 20 ) no extra for bank holidays if shifted to work them. Every one had the choice of shift pattern rotating 5/3 or regular mon-fri 5/2 all your weekends off, majority went for 5/3, ( wouldnt you less work more days off same money !! )

So any one in the know ? have been on the ACAS website www.acas.org.uk got info but nothing on the above, thought i`d ask about before i contact them for further advise.
