Hello everyone I’m new on here, passed my Class 2 in July and then my Class 1 in August, then after a 5 week wait got my initial CPC module 2 then 4 weeks later got my module 4. I work for DHL at the minute and they have said they’ll help me get some experience but I won’t be able to get assessed until late January early feb, I work 4 on 4 off in the warehouse at the minute, so I was just wondering would it be worth me signing onto an agency to do the odd day just to get abit of experience until my company get me on the road? I’ve drove a shunter for 2 years so my reversing etc is spot on, Alls I need now is my road experience ! Cheers for any replies, Kev
WELCOME
I would go for the odd driving shift on your days off
Just remember the rules -
If any EU regs driving is done in the fixed week which is from sunday midnight to sunday midnight then the warehouse work done in that fixed week must be officially recorded so that the authorities can see you have complied with the EU driving weekly rest rules
official records for that warehouse work can be either of these three options -
Manually inputted into a digi = very time consuming etc etc
written onto digi printout roll
written onto analogue cards
In the last two options a seperate record for each day worked must be made with your name, date, start & finish time on each
After 29 calendar days those records for the warehouse work can be binned
no records are required if no EU regs driving was done in a fixed week
Cheers mate, A few of the drivers in work mentioned that I’d have to do all that, all worth it though to get my experience which is the main thing at the minute!
