^^^ I made the post about STS for EVERYONE’s benefit.

Every time I hear about a crap payer, I make sure it’s posted on here.

You are coming up to 7000 posts you sure you have posted all of them.

I am sure there are more than 7000 crap payers with operators licences…

I didnt say " Every time I post, it’s about a crap payer " though, did I ?

Lay off the Rastafarian Old Holborn. It’s doing you no good at all…

I’m 25 zero class 1 experience. Went for a interview Friday driving artic Monday.
Another issue may be only looking for big firms to take you on.

Sounds like they’re spinning you lies in relation to the two year insurance clause.
As soon as they see your CV they’ll know you don’t have 2 years experience so why would they then ask you in for an interview and assessment wasting their time and yours.

Bedford’s @ Birstall
Surefreight @ Bradford
Freightroute @ Bradford
Bibbys @ Elland / Normanton
Maritime @ Stourton

Only other option is to go through your local directory and just keep trying

sometimes a little white lie comes in handy, like a company that went broke recently, and you were one of the drivers…wink…wink…

Adam277, I am willing to do class 2 work as well. As for agencies like I mentioned before they really have let me down. I was promised the world by one of them and actually left my permanent job (I know it was a silly thing to do) to work for them. Two weeks later after some class 2 work they said sorry we’ve lost the contract and that was that. Luckily my boss gave me my old job back as I had a good record.

Darkside… I wouldn’t know if the job is for me or not as I’ve not actually had one yet? I can’t knock it without trying first. But I speak to a lot of drivers (in my warehouse job) and almost everyone of them has said I would struggle for first 2 years, so I am hopeful.

Some of firms listed earlier told me at my assessments that they’ve relaxed the 2 yr rule as they’ve now decided that a new pass hasn’t picked up bad habits yet.

So personally I’d just ignore that if on any job adverts and keep applying .

Still struggling to understand why your not getting anywhere? Have you tried calling firms and asking for feedback on improvements as if you’ve passed assessments then something else is holding you back?

I didn’t have probs and I’m in Bradford as well

Best advice I can give is don’t waste your time with this industry. Instead of chasing round for a low paying Hgv driving job where the novelty of driving a globetrotter xxxxxxxxxl super duper space cab for just above minimum wage will soon wear off. Your time would be much better spent retraining for a worthwhile career. Just speaking from experience.

That’s great advice for someone who has yet to get there licences. Personally Im gonna use my licence to get money behind me and pay off some of my debt so I can retrain.
Although hgv money isn’t great it’s a lot better compared to most warehouse jobs.

Goto Reed Boardall at Boroughbridge they are despo for class 1,its easy fridge work but the planners will make you ■■■■ up more ■■■■■ than a septic tanker

This is super creepy… Just got off the phone from a company in Bradford, called in for an interview on Thursday. Massive cheers to everyone for their advice… Glad I came on here

Advice Dont tell anyone who the firm is I’m sure there will be more than one with a negative review.
Best of luck

I have never understood how people take years to find that full first time job.

I applied for and successfully got a job to drive arctics around europe doing motorsports and events at age 23. That was also only having less then one years experience doing cat c, and never driven a arctic.( did my test in rigid + a frame)

Its just the same as people who want to find work, always do. The people who dont want to, always seem to struggle.

Best of luck, though I am very curious as to who it is?

I can guess though if it’s actually in Bradford and if it is the company I’m thinking if they’re not that bad considering

Yes they are in Bradford and they aren’t general haulage

In that case pretty sure it’s one I’m thinking of. Be aware the assessment is quite long as in mine was 3hrs!
