first of all i would like to say what a great forum this is
ok heres my question,i passed my class2 22/2/09 and was driving for a company untill last week
ive tried to get driving jobs since then but all say not enough experience, well an agency has offered me some work.now i have a digi card but only used it once about 3 months ago mainly used paper charts
the agency work uses the digi card,so when i put the card into the machine will ihave to press yes for end of last shift even tho it was about 3months ago? maybe a daft question but dont wont to mess up
on my first day
thanks for any advicemister-t
Press yes when it shows the time of your last shift and asks if it is the end of the shift and it will move onto asking about the start time for the current shift. Unless you want to add a manual entry to add some time to the end of that 3 month old shift, but there is little or no point as that shift should already have been downloaded by the company as it is now out with the download period.
thanks for the reply much appreciated

In the opinion of most site members, coffeeholic is one of the site GURUs on these matters so that WILL be the definitive reply

Blimey ROG a glittering career in politics awaits you… cos you never mentioned whether you’ve found an exemption, or it was the most skillful attempt at increasing post-count that I’ve ever seen.

Err, no it will not be the definitive reply.
That is my opinion and what I would do, only VOSA can give you the definitive reply as they enforce the regulations. They may insist on a manual entry to cover the clocking off time at the end of the last digi shift even if it is 3 months ago.

How many times have your answers not been the same as those given by VOSA? - not many I’ll bet
I can only recall it happening once on this site…

And that was only because I took the wider EU view and they took the UK only view.

No you haven’t. Remember my post from the other day saying I don’t always give the same answer to the same question? Sometimes I have given the wrong answer just because it’s fun watching people take that as fact and pass it off as their own answer on other forums. Not on the easy stuff such as driving time, breaks, rest periods etc but some of the more obscure stuff stuff. On those occasions the answer definitely would not be the same as VOSA.
You know I was referring to questions such as those posed by the OP
