So I am hoping to do a CPC next month. I have never driven either a 3.5 or 7.5 ton lorry, I haven’t even driven a car for about 10 years but I’ve decieded to try and get into the driving line of work.
So my questions is should I ideally have some experience driving lorrys before my CPC and do you have any advice on how to go about doing this. I could possibly book lessons etc?
I suggest you get back into car driving first - perhaps take an advanced driving course

I drove for 11 years before I moved to a city and gave up. I don’t see the problem. I am more concerned about getting some training in the bigger vehicles.

The driving is the easy bit, learning how to not have to deal with all the other crap is where the skill is

It’s not a requirement, and having experience of driving a lorry won’t help you with the CPC. .
You’ll get to the driving bit soon enough.
