New Daf CF

Ive been to the CV show at the NEC on a jolly with work today (will upload pics later), and a good nose round the Daf stand, 106 SSC very nice, always been a fan of this cab and loved my 95 SSC. Dont think the CF is a bad motor if only having 1-2 nights a week out in it. However looked at the new CF and it seems there are 2 versions, one with 2 steps into the cab and one with 3, the only other difference there seemed to me was a slightly lower engine hump in the 3 stepped cab. Is this the only difference? Anyone know any others?

There’s been 2 different heights of CF cabs for a long time now, usually it was the heavier markets got the bigger cab. My dads 8 wheeler CF has the bigger one (can spot as it has bigger headlight surrounds) yet the 6 wheeler of my uncles has the smaller. I assume they’ve just carried that over to the new ones.

8 Wheeler

6 Wheeler

One will be the lower CF75 and the other the slightly higher CF85.

That says exactly what I did, but so much simpler. Good job!

Both were tractor units one a 460 the other a 510. Both were space cabs

They don’t seem to badge them as 75 85 etc any more

There’s more on the CF and the LF here truckingtopics.co.uk/dafeuro6cflf.html

Maybe one was construction spec and sat higher on its suspension or similar?

Saw on a website that the mx-11 engine sits under the normal height cab and the mx-13 engine sits under the higher cab

Yes they do, we’ve taken on some brand new 75.310’s at the beginning of March.

That’s true of the current models, but the E6 ones don’t seem to have numbers any more. The just seem to be XF, CF or LF.

Following Volvo, perhaps, because the FH12 became the plain old FH when they went to 13 litres…or was that superstition?

2steps for the mx-11 engine and 3 steps for the mx13. I think it will just lf cf and xf without any number designations.

I believe I read somewhere that it was for superstitious reasons they never called it the FH13.
