new cat c driver advice

I am new to this. Passed my class 2 recently and got my first job once I get my licence back. Can anyone remember how long it took to get their licence back after sent it off with test certificate. Also need some advice on what I should take with me on my first over night. Sleeping stuff eg. Also how, when and where I can have a wash and stuff

Hi craig well done on the job, mine took just over a week to come back.as for night’s out kit, sleeping bag pillows to start with, a flask is a must when im on nights out I take it into costa and most will fill it with boiling water which if you take tea/coffee/milk with you u have hot drinks all night without costing you anything and saves a walk if you stop on services. A book magazine laptop or kindle is good, did a night out last Saturday was nice to chill out with a book and a coffee.
As for a wash you get 2 hours free on services so park on the services go in use the showers for free then if you want to park somewhere else you have had a shower for free.
On a Saturday last drop is in Plymouth so drive up to Exeter have 50 minute break have a shower sort bed and cab out and paperwork then drive up to Strensham already sorted.
Hope this helps

Jeff.

You will want a 24v inverter (unless your truck has a 12v socket too). for a laptop only you don’t need a huge one but I wouldn’t buy one less that 300w in case you want to power other things later. You will see that some are “modified sine wave” and some are “pure sine wave”. The latter is much better, and has higher compatibility; some laptops will not work happily with a modified sine wave supply and it can damage the power supply. Hope that helps a bit…

Thanks for your help. Really getting nervous about going out on my own for first time. The company I am working for going to put me with another driver on locals for week. Then will be going on my own over night  Sure be fine just don’t no what to expect
