I doubt being in or out the EU will make any difference! from some of the pieces I’ve read on autonomous driving they’re preparing the ground work for when autonomous cars will share the same piece of tarmac as manually driven cars, they wont want Jonny speed pants to go any faster than the speed limit of any particular road that the autonomous cars will have to adhere to speed limits.
There’s a slew of new mandatory safety measures (11) that have to be fitted on new cars from 2021.

Chilling stuff I wonder if they’ll be “backwards compatible” I’d pay good money to see them try to fit a limiter to my carburettored Fireblade

then I got a little paranoid about how the sign was communicating with my car?!
Not sure if you know the answer on how it knows, but if not the speed sign is detected by the built in camera fitted to the car.
Dave…
That’s correct, but it doesn’t make it any less creepy. Mate of mine sent me a whatsapp message about old trucks in Hilton Park Services the other day. Guess what came up as a suggested video, the next time I went on Youtube?
Not sure if this would affect the general motorist here in the UK but I can only assume it would.
Well considering the max limit in the UK is 70mph and France 80mph gonna be fun then isn’t it?
Not really. It works on geomapping, GPS and sign recognition so it shouldn’t matter what country you’re in the posted speed shoukd be automatically picked up and adhered to.

Nothing private about WhatsApp, owned by Facebook and I’ve noticed a marked increase in advertising on there that’s related to what you look at online.

Yeah, I know, I should have expected it. Think I’ll bin it, for what it’s worth.
