How it worksFrom 1st March 2001 the annual car tax (or Vehicle Excise Duty - VED) rates are determined by CO2 emissions and type of fuel used. This information is on the car’s log book - also called a V5 document.

If your car was registered before the 1st March 2001 then car tax is based only on the engine size, with one rate for engine sizes up to and including 1549cc and one for engines over 1549cc.

Don’t worry about the rad tax, oil has just this minute hit a new all time record high. you won’t be able to afford the petrol so don’t worry about taxing it. Brown and Darling will be gone before the new car tax starts and it’s up to us to get someone in who stops trying to throw the baby out with the bath water with all this green taxation cack. The chinese must be laughing there pants off.

Considering the backside has dropped out of the car game I was gonna change my old jalopy for something a lot newer,
but I think I’ll stick with it for this year.

it was the torys that give us the free tax on anything over 25 years and it was brown who took it away.
