New Brunswick to Kentucky and North Carolina

I started with a new firm last week and took quite a few photos on my first trip so here are a few of them.

I loaded Friday the 6th here in Woodstock with a load of tipping paper used to make cigarettes. Two drops in Kentucky at Cynthiana and Russell Springs and three in North Carolina at Grover, Winston Salem and Greensboro.
Once empty I reloaded furniture (two and three seater sofas) in Randleman, North Carolina back for Saint John, New Brunswick and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Once empty in Dartmouth I did a trailer swap in Truro, Nova Scotia and picked up a trailer going to Tennessee. Which I only took it back to the yard before going home for the weekend. I did a total of 7 days and covered 6310km.

Here are a few pics…

The Volvo drives better and has I-shift so it wins there but the Freightliner has quite a bit more room inside and it doesn’t drive bad either. For the job I’m doing I think I prefer what I’ve got, but if I were given a Volvo I’d be happy with that as well.

Not sure about that! I hate the sound of my own voice on recordings so publishing a video diary would be torture…

There are a very few that charge but they are few and far between. If they do charge its generally say $20 for 24 hours, unless you fill up with a minimum of 50 gallons of diesel, then its free for 24 hours. If you dont buy diesel, then anything purchased inside the shop/restaurant etc is then deducted against the parking fee when you leave. But like I said, for every truckstop that charges, 100 dont.

The mirrors on the hood are a godsend. They pretty much eradicate any blindspot and you have great visibility out of them. I use mine all the time and would be lost without them, especially the one on the passenger side.

Here are some interior shots for you…

Nice photo’s but now I know what truck to sabotage
I am a sworn Volvo man mostly and I loved the one I drove at St Ann’s but my Cascadia is almost the same as yours inside, minus the top bunk, still room to stnd upright and wak around though… It’s growing on me, reminds me of the dash on the FH12 I drove in 94

You’re not suggesting that the trucks here are 20 years behind Europe are you?!?!

I’m just heading off to Idaho, so no Connecticunts or Massholes this week!

Yeah … I’ll be in Buffalo in the morning.
