Hello,
This is my first time on this forum, I am not a truck driver but have a question:
How much will it cost me and how long will it take for me to get a class 2 license.
Any help would be much appreciated.

The best place to get detailed answers to your questions is in the New and Wanabee Drivers Forum,
Basically, it would take about 1- 2 week of trainings and a test, if you did it as a full time course. That would cost, in the region of £1000, roughly.
You would need to get a medical, apply for your provisional licence, do the theory test, do the hazard perception test etc (not necessarily in that order 
). All of these will cost, but are included in my £1000 rough estimate.
An LGV driving school would help you get everything sorted, so will the Newbies Forum, but we won’t be giving you a bill for our services .

- You will need a D2 licence application form.
I only know of 2 places to get these as post offices
dont have them.
a) (DVLA) 0870 240 0009
b) A Lgv training school - You also need a D4 medical report form which as
to be signed by a doctor(Does not have to be your own Doctor)
But there is a cost. These can be gotten from post office
or lgv training schools - Send your completed D2, D4 forms and your existing
car licence to:
DVLA, SWANSEA, SA99 1BR. (Currently no fee) - You will need a DSA theory book, hazard perception
disk to study for the theory test.
Mock theory tests -

or telephone -

you can do a 1 hour assessment and book your training
and test if your happy with the instructor and truck ect. - Take category c test and pass then you can decide
whether to do c+e when your licence comes back with
category c on it.
I would agree with whats already said above that the cost
of getting category c (Class 2) would roughly cost about £1000
Things to note -
you will need a Photocard Licence
If you book a category c course and a c+e course at the
same time there will probably be a discount.
