New BFBS Radio 2 frequency in Germany

For those using the A2 it is now possible to receive BFBS Radio 2 on 91.7, from the new Gütersloh transmitter, from around Beckum up to the top of the hill at Bielefeld.

A lot of the BFBS frequencies have been altered recently, the major one being the withdrawal of BFBS 1 on 96.5 which used to cover the Ruhr area.

now i know why i couldn’t get BFBS when i was in germany this week they’ve changed the frquencies :imp:

When I was in the army , a long time ago [centurion was a rank, not a tank] BFBS was refered to as Bumbling Fumbling Broadcasting Service.

Now if they could just withdraw the rest of the frequencies it would be safe to search the airwaves without risking catching any of the second worst radio station anywhere on the dial.

I grew up listening to BFBS when I was a kid and liked it, still listen nowadays when I’m in the area, its far better than the god awful AFN.

In a word, no. Down that way I usually listen to Classic 21, a Belgian French language station.

there’s plenty worse than BFBS and Talk Sport unless of course you like the fact that all radio stations in germany think the music world ended in 1990. status quo aren’t too bad but not every half hour and david hasselhoff can NOT sing despite the germans loving him
unless its 1980’s soft rock then its oompah music

coffee thought you were going to say AFM the eagle

I always carry the complete box cd’s of dads army in the abscence of any radio.Find the humour and lack of visuals makes the experience so much sustaining on the long treks, sanity preserving in fact.Shame some tycoon can’t get a pure music station up and going that attempts a kind of euro/esparanto type of thing. After long ago abandoning tv land permenantly I now find there aint anything worth listening to whatsoever, including the increasingly banal radio 2 which is bloody dire -evans,leery,mayo ad nauseum.Christ i’d rather have Stock,Aitken and Waterman on repeat cycle than endure this aural slurry :open_mouth:

Off course, Tommy - becoss nussink after ‘Neun und neunsich luftballon’ would ever be worth swinging vuns sausage to, ja?

Unless it’s Karnival, Shutzenfest, Oktoberfest or a wedding, then a traditional Invasion tune is always more appropriate. It’s good for those too, obviously.
