Spain’s roads…
Have broken quite a few bits off motors I was driving over the years.
The biggest pot hole of them all? The ‘diversion’ they put at the top of Villabona many years ago. Ok, it wasn’t actually a diversion but they dug a hole big enough to swallow an artic and put a few cones out about 30 metres from the 90 degree right turn away from it.
It swallowed a French artic and one of Continental Express’ motors, the second man was lucky to get out because the roof was crushed right in.
I’ve just shelled out £190 for the priveledge of pothole dodging for another 12 months in the UK in my Mondeo.I have an identical car on a Spanish plate which costs half that.Spain’s roads now are very good generally speaking.I don’t doubt that we have have contributed in some small way via the EU.I recall parts of the road from Sagunto to Zaragoza not even being black topped.Now it is an autovia.
On another matter,I wish my UK TV licence cost the same as my Spanish one.
