That’s londinium, do you feel safe.

Oh so clever aren’t you, !! by the way it isn’t Londinium

.

It’s within the toilet seat,(M25)

You do know that although the area is even within the London Borough of Croydon let alone M25 it’s actually more like nicer parts of rural Cambridgeshire than the urban zb hole of Cambridge.

Man hole rings

Brace ya-self.

I’m braced :sunglasses:

Come off at j4 m25 and go that way in shed loads shorter

Yeah that’s do-able too, could be better/shorter, in fact looking at it on the map 100% better M1, M25 clock, over bridge exit J4
A21 twds Bromley, at Farnborough lights, tl A232 twds W/Wickham Croydon, through Hayes Common, down steep hill to roundabout tl onto Addington Road twds Addington and follow map

google.fr/maps/place/Cherts … -0.0163711

It’s not steep from Hayes Common into West Wickham on the A232; just narrow and windy.

And yes, that’s the route I’d take, any traffic problems on the M25 permitting (I’d always plan two routes if needing the M25 and going to the other side of town).

Also, don’t let any sat-nav take you down Layham’s Road (off Addington Road and goes round the back of New Addington towards Warlingham). It’s a single-track road and I’m not sure you can get an artic down parts of it. Head down Addington Road to the big roundabout where the tram station is and turn left up Lodge Lane. There’s a big sign telling drivers “do not follow sat-nav” at the entrance to Layham’s.

Lived in New Addington from 1996 to 2002, ****HOLE never been as glad to get away from somewhere in my life, gangs of thieves roam the place at night they would smash your car windows if you were daft enough to leave anything on view, the coppers go around in two, even the bloody Police dogs go around in two’s, awful place.

Although the surrounding countryside is pleasant (though not to drive through in an artic), New Addington is a bit of a dump. It’s a big housing estate and is one of Croydon’s more deprived areas. That said I’ve never had any problems delivering there.

It’s a big council style housing estate. There’s an Tramline terminus near to where you’ll need to turn for Chertsea Crescent, which is around the back of the municipal buildings area.

There’s a school down this narrow road, and I would recommend coming in from the Northern end, near the Tram Terminus. The bottom end looks a bit tight otherwise…

The chippy in the shopping parade nearby, is a good 'un as well btw.

I used to dump my car in the backstreets of this neighbourhood, buy a capital card, and then jump on the tram into town. Worked out cheaper than taking a train/capital card from my local station here in kent. When we returned to the car at the end of the day, we’d pop into the chippy, and have a laptop pig-out on the warm summer evenings…

The point was more that the M25 means nothing ( Oxshott,Ashtead,Tadworth,Walton on the Hill,Esher,Cobham,Downside etc ) but yes that’s what happens when London moves in and turns yet more of what was Surrey into another over developed zb hole and moves ‘Londoners’ in and then ‘Surrey’ residents move out.Unfortunately plenty of other parts of the County went a similar way in that regard like parts of Kingston,Chessington and Tolworth and now London wants to take even more of the place to turn into an even bigger London type zb hole with all the usual ‘issues’ again. :frowning:
