New £50 note.

Mr Turing…

Is a man worthy of appearing on a bullseye.

But, can anyone tell me what on earth the point of a £50 note is? Ok, yeh you can take them in if you’ve sold your car/boat/family silver and took 50s for it but, I’d personally never do that.

I can’t think of anywhere (except the banks) that will accept one.

To buy a breakfast on m-way services?

So long as you’ve two of them.

I could never be hungry enough to buy a meal at a motorway service station. What with being a Yorkshireman and all.

When I first heard it on the news a few weeks back that ALAN TURING was going to be on the 50 quid note,.it was on AM Talk Sport,.and the reception in the area wasn’t too great.
What I heard was …ALAN SHEARER was going on the 50 quid note :open_mouth:
As a Newcastle fan, my first thought was ‘Excellent choice’ :sunglasses:  :unamused:

This guy went a long way to help the Allies win the war (Turing not Shearer  ) by breaking the German Enigma code, saving many many lives, and was treated abysmally after the war, only for being gay.
This is one of the parts of history the UK should be ashamed about, not recent stuff highlighted because of political ■■■■ correctness.
