Never used a digital tacho

Although I’ve had a digi-card since they came out I haven’t got to using it yet.
Starting on a new contract with agency later this week, and the fleet is all digital. I’m sure someone there will give me a quick run through, but is there any where i can get some decent info/ literature on how to use them so i can read up properly and keep it to hand?
I,ve also been told (don’t know if true or not) that there are 3 different types and each one works slightly different to the other■■?
I Dunno!
If anyone knows where i can find what i need I’d be grateful

Cheers

Digital Tacho

You are probably getting mixed up with the three types of cards available. Concern yourself only with the driver card.

The other 2 are the Control card. Boss, Vosa and Police
and Workshop card which mechanics are supposed to use but seem to forget

Read this .pdf, it’s a quick quide that’ll get you going…

[note: i’ve got limited traffic on my webspace so it may not be available at peak periods]…

Thanks for those bbez. I have still yet to use my Digi card, so they will be very useful, cheers.

cheers for that bbez and wheelnut much appreciated.

If you get a VDO Siemens unit, sometimes you need the following key sequence:

down arrow

down arrow

down arrow

enter

use up and down arrows and when you reach “english”, press enter.

That’s handy when some joker has left the language set as Polish from the day before… :unamused:

I got a phone call today from work. I have to take my driver card to one of the depots to read it.

I have not worked since the end of May, but the tachograph computer is now spitting its dummy out because it is missing me :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, the medicine man has failed his magic so Im going to convince him to let me go back to work regardless. It is all very well telling me to stay at home. Im bored silly.

Nurse, the funnel please :stuck_out_tongue:

There are 3 different types of tacho unit (siemens, actia, stoneridge) siemens seems most common though.

I’ve only seen the Siemens VDO and the Stoneridge Electronics ones, I’m sure the Actia is out there, but what ever happened to the mythical Dephi Grundig?

It has now got Type Approval but it’s called ‘EFAS,’ should be arriving in cabs some time from September onwards, if the publicity is to be believed.
