Have you not got any ‘black nasty’ for the delicate little things that do go wrong?

No I have green string and cable ties

Dogsbody:
Oh dear! Is this not a wind-up?

Is this not how everyone starts?

Yes but, what colour is the boathouse?

Lots of old soldiers on here, and mag to grid been so long since I heard that I’ve forgot what it means lol  (get rid)

He could tell you, but then he’d have to kill you.

Who are you on with?

tmjns796:
Hello all,

. . . I have never driven an articulated vehicle, except for a bit of
shunting in my previous HGV fitter job.

Just bricking it because its all new!

I’m going to be tramping out in it too, which is all new to me.

… any tips are welcome !!!

Don’t worry. It’s dead easy. Most people only need four half days
driving to become fully qualified with C+E - so it ain’t that skilled.

Don’t forget your 24hr Rat Pack and your Hexy, Housewife and Mag to Grid.

First Field Dressing■■?

Four and a half days! That’s an eternity compared to some.I know good drivers that have passed after one days training.
Some deadheads need more than four and a half!

Dont worry about the experience, most employers say we are 10 a penny anyway, but if you ask a pole how its done, they can help youn more than we can, for the majority got their licence through driving a tractor with a trailer on, and they seem to manage, sometimes.
Just watch your mates moves, even get out of the cab if you have to, at least by the end of the day, you would have learnt a lot, but remember to ask him if you can have a go
good luck and welcome to T.N.

I think you said somewhere earlier that you were starting on tippers? Well I’m surprised that some of the “experts” here haven’t pointed out the dispensation for daily rest that tipper drivers are allowed! The minimum requirement for you guys is 6 hours daily rest.

Not really sure why but I think it’s because if you had any longer than 7 hours off you’d require re-training!

T’was a joke before anyone gets precious.

Glad someone picked up on you will be in a Artic tipper…least of your worries will be reversing…

Good point! Tipping on a landfill site never stops being scary (well it never did for me anyway) especially with a bulk trailer. That said, I find all tipping trailers scary things, maybe I’m just a big Jessie

Yeh…lol, or that nice limestone dust that sticks like s**t to a blanket !

First day went v well, started off getting used to the twin splitter box with half gears. Tri axle trailer was already loaded with wash. so a nice run down to a council yard for my first reverse into a narrow bay, and tip. Then I ran out of quarry all day, carrying 6mm stone to a building block factory. Back in the yard and home for 5.
The trailer followed a lot better than I thought it would. And I am a lot more confident for tomorrows solo run down south.
my experienced aider today was my boss, he was supposed to be coming with me tomorrow but said he was satisfied enough with my driving to let me go alone.

If you can’t fix it with black nasty… You havnt used enough black nasty!

cheers for all your help guys!
