I have herd that asda wigan will be doing all the delivers to the netto stores in the north
I only heard about this today, the Dav depot is at the other end of the road to us. Surely Asda can’t just end the Butts contract without paying them off?
Sorry for digging up an old post but in last weeks Daventry paper it said all staff from the Daventry depot will be offered alternative employment in Lutterworth.
We all know ASDA dominate Magna Park, my question is, will the drivers from Netto in Daventry now become ASDA drivers ?
Thats got to be a good result for them if that is the case.

And I wouldn’t be sad to see a few ■■■■’s staff go either. Especially that [zb] that drives the shunter on nights at Huddersfield.
Quite a friendly bunch there aren’t they.
I’m just doing my last week of agency for them and moving to France for a while. Glad to see the back of store deliveries in wag drag and the miserable Butts staff.
Isn’t Netto like Lidl for council dwellers?
On a small shop front, wasn’t there some talk of Morrisons opening convenience stores. I also read they were starting home delivery.

Your source is wrong, Northern boy, the Netto stores are being spread across a few depots. We have got a load of them to supply from Bedford, mainly Yorkshire.
interestingly about home delivery and Morrisons
i have heard that they may be buying
Home Retail Group (Argos & Homebase)
also Asda sniffing at them too
I think one of the main reasons Asda bought Netto is that Sainsbury’s have pretty much the same market share in the UK now and Asda didn’t want them to take 2nd place as that would be a kick in the goolies.
I don’t think the Netto stores are small enough to justify them being bought as an easy way to get in to the “express” small store sector although would be smaller than most of Asda’s hypermarkets.
Bear in mind Asda are owned by the yanks and Walmart have bottomless reserves of cash.
Morrisons have got the one near me, not hanging about either re-opens next monday only been shut a fortnight. I was talking to an Iceland driver last night they have bought some of the stores as well.

Asda Normanton will be getting an extra 25 stores converted from Netto. Washington will be similar.

Morrisons have bought a 10pc stake in Fresh Direct for £32m. Then, in 2013 Morrisons plans to launch its own food delivery website in London.
But this will not allow Morrisons to use FreshDirect’s IT platform nor have access to its intellectual property. It has bought the right to send a team in with “clipboards”, to watch, to learn and to come back here and implement.
Add that to the £70m that Morrison paid for online baby product company Kiddicare.com earlier this year.
Ever decreasing circles!

To this day i have yet to see a Netto store
I’m hoping this means that we will get a morrisons in Nuneaton, seeing as Netto is about 200m from the ASDA.
