Need truck navigation for UK

Hi,

Hopefully this is good palce for this topic. I am new truck driver and need truck navigation. There are so many different bands and different option on the market that I can’t decide which navigation to buy. Please, dear experts could you recommend for me the best navigation for truck.

Navigation need:

  1. Be very powerful so will be smooth without any deley when moving in system/navigating etc.
  2. I do not want to spend monay every year for subscription so need lifetime subscription with free maps updates.
  3. Need to have SD slot to extand storage capacity unless sat nav has got enough storage already build in.
  4. I need Sat nav with very good address coverage
  5. Need to have hazmat
  6. No price limit

.

Amazon is good for ordering one, trying it for a period then send it back and try an alternative, if its better keep it, if its worse return an re order the first 1.

One solution and value for money, is
Tablet samsung, 10 inch or 8 inch
Tomtom go app (has hazmat) about 50 quid as on offer at moment but yearly subscription.

What you also have is a large screen google maps and streetview, which means you can scope your drops before doing them, also watch Netflix on breaks, setup playlists for Bluetooth into the cab whilst driving, and would cost less than either device, that would only give you a satnav…

But you’ll find your own preference, therefore whatever you buy, buy through amazon, and 30 days to trial and return if not right for you… no questions or arguments from amazon, just refunded.

I bought Tom Tom experts 7 and is so laggy when mowing through system and maps. So expensive but so laggy

go on ebay and put “125411392577” in the search. It’s igo software and it’s never got me in a jam, just configure width / height and length. Just be mindful that when you swap a lot of trailers that heights change with each and every trailer!

Garmin Dezl a dedicated sat nav fortrucks . Can enter height , width , length weight and I beleive you can set it up for Haz/ ADR .
I have a dezl 580 and have been running it for a couple of years now and its never put me wrong .

Used / refurbished available on Amazon for around £250

I have a TomTom truck nav.
Had it for years and it’s been faultless.
Lifetime updates and traffic.
Was expensive to buy but paid for itself over the years and still going strong.

Holy thread revival Batman!
