northeast-logisticsacademy.co.uk … -training#
i used these for mine, i was at a loose end one day and they just let me walk in and join in a class, good price as well
we have the first week of december available, you can do just 4 days with us.
Try Regional Training Partners (RTP) at Belasis Billingham . Did all of ours there.
Fatboy slimshow, believe it or not anything other than driving a truck!!
Due to a slight change in circumstances though I need to get it done ASAP!!

Not doing the DCPC because he didn’t need it. His circumstances have changed so now he does. I’ve not done mine because I don’t need it, I might if my circumstances change.
I would pay my full 35hrs again just to sit in with coffeeholic at a DCPC especially the tacho hours module, oh it would be messy, anyone ever actually seen a DCPC instructor cry?

Probably the same as I did until August, something completely unrelated to truck driving with absolutely no intention of ever going back. Life then throws you a curveball and one thing that is currently guaranteed to find you work and generate £400+ a week take home faster than applying for any other job is truck driving. Take CPC, phone up agency on last day you have to do, start work the following Monday, £400+ in the bank the next week.
I haven’t done mine as I don’t need it ,i haven’t touched a truck in the last 13 years so I don’t see the point in paying for it if you don’t require it yet ,
but if my circumstances changed or they bring some silly law in by saying if don’t do it then you will lose your hgv then I would be looking as well
One thing about this; it won’t be half as easy in the future to blag your way through an interview for a job that needs recent driving experience if you’ve been out of the game for a while, and have had to do what this chap has.
I wonder how many with just the pre 1997 LGV C1 have suddenly landed a new type of job driving a 7.5 only to find out they need a DQC?

I am not sure if things are different in the UK until sept 2013 I worked in a sector here in France that didn’t require a DCPC (FIMO/FCOS in french) they have had this in place since 1997 ish, to be able to just do the short periodic training I required a declaration from my employer that I had been driving in a professional position. If I had been unable to do that then I would have had to do the full 4 week course. if you could not prove that you had worked professionally during the last 10 years then you would have to do the full course (4 weeks) I have said this in another thread somewhere, but generally, in France when your DQC is due to expire the employer just sends you off to the centre for 5 days and pays for your dinner and wine too (not on driving day though

I am on average getting about 6 or 8 people through on each 5 day course who are C1 holders moving into driving for the first time and desperately need a DQC to start work. About half of these are currently unemployed and get the course paid for by the Job Centre - which ■■■■■■ off the others on the course paying with their own money and I can see why.
I also get the impression from some of them that they have no intention of actually taking a job … they just collect free courses.
