Has it definitely been stolen or is there a chance it’s been lost and may be reunited with him in the next 24 hours?
Did he have travel insurance? If so, call them and let them earn thier money.
Apart from that I can’t help with much else that you havent already said.
Just tell him to jump on the next Euroliner coming over from Calais, that’s how most people get into this country, Isn’t it ?
Seriously though! Animal, I just googled it & found this-
gov.uk/emergency-travel-document
Hope it helps.
I don’t suppose he had a photo copy did he ■■ it just makes things easier to get stuff sorted , he might be able to get back if he has a photo card driving licence with him but he’ll need to check at the port if they’ll let him back .I’m sure one of the euro boys will know …
Well just an up date
He does have travel insurance he also took a pic of passport on phone
Went to police they have give him emergency travel documents so on flight to Amsterdam ( as that was where his connection is ) just have to wait now
Yep defo stolen he did travel as light as poss so left his licence in the house
We agreed he would have 1 contact due to battery although the police did allow him to charge at station ( well partly ) & they would keep all informed

Result… next time maybe he takes his d-licence with eh and keeps it separate
Just spoke with his fiancee he has landed & cleared through
Well done to the German police as they phoned ahead to Edinburgh airport to let them know he is waiting for his bags now
Ring up the passport office and report it stolen. Make a cup of tea before you do it and find a comfortable chair to sit on. They get funny about passports being stolen if not reported due security and technically a passport is property of the country and you hold it only by privilege. In reality your son will just have to endure the tedium of dealing with the passport office and filling in a form detailing where/when it went missing and probably paying up for a new one.
Spoke with him briefly last night he is fine but was tired pleased to be back knows he has a lot to do to sort things out
A huge thanks to German police & officials they sorted everything out without too much fuss even charged his phone ( as battery was low ) to see his travel arrangements done everything they could to help even turned up in Amsterdam to sort thing out there made sure he was feed & watered called ahead to let Edinburgh airport know he was traveling & the situation
Got through ok without too much of a problem arrived back home about the time he should have
The staff at KLM ( who he was flying with ) were no help at all
Thanks for the help
He did put some thing in place just in case
