You’re joking, right?

most erfs from v reg onwards have or can get rpc’s but they are still not allowed anywhere near london

Why would i be joking?

Cheers gonzo. thought it was the case with erf’s just done some looking up on the web into euro class engines. Been out of the O/O game for a while and just testing the water.

total crap!.. a firm i work for now and again have a w reg fm12 with rpc and it still runs into london no problems!
a v reg with rpc will be fine for london!

I disagree.
I had a Y reg TGA with an RPC, as the engine was euro 2, the RPC bought it up to euro 3 spec, and it is not allowed into London unless i want to pay handsomely for the priviledge

Has to be euro4 for London or have a 5k exhaust fitted from jan 2012

You are right T.C sent my T reg ERF to London yesterday. It has an R.P.C but is NOT compliant so that was £200 for Boris then
To answer the original post yes ERF EC11 will come with R.P.C.This will save £500 per year on the road tax
A particulate filter can be fitted to comply with current London emission regs I know because i looked at fitting one to the above vehicle

Didn’t think vehicles of that age came with rpc but stand corrected.

The Scania that I sold last week had an Rpc on it, (2000 Xreg) classed as a low emissions engine. From Jan3rd this year it was no longer LEZ compliant.
NB. This was a 44t tractor which I taxed at 3+3, low emissions reduced tax, also combined operation, which is operating between port, railhead, customer.
(containers only) Road tax £280 per year. Regards Kevmac47.

nothing ■■■■■■■■ powerered will go into london unless its been fitted with particle filter,so that rules all erf and fodens out unless you chuck 5 grand at them

Used to drive a T reg Actros Euro 3 with an RPC, and then got a August 2007 Registered Euro 5 FH that had one.

Thinking it was something to do with if the vehicle was specced above the Euro rating of the time I was expecting to get an RPC with a Feb 07 Registered Euro 5 FH.
I believe you can get an RPC on a 2006 truck, but apparently at one point they decided that you couldn’t have an RPC on a Euro 5 truck unless it had the right On board Diagnostics.

commercialmotor.com/latest-n … ting-euro-

Saying that I don’t think my truck will run on reduced power mode if the Ad Blue system goes silly and it’s plated at 31 tonnes so tax not to high.

Moose, as the driver you are not liable to the financial penalty, but I can assure you you are wrong about still being LEZ
compliant. Your boss might get away with it once or twice, but he is in for a nasty shock shortly. I can’t believe T/Ms
and owners are under the impression they are ok on this rpc issue!!! We have all had the info. Of course when it happens the poor old driver will get the
blame chucked in his direction, or am I just being Mr cynical■■? regards Kevmac47

Does it have a euro 4 engine?

the only reason we were under the impression that the vehicle was lez compliant is down to the fact transport for london said so after a phone call !!
when you go on the vehicle compliance check web site it states that not all info given in regard to a registration number will be correct so phone for correct details!

Harry, unless it has been re-engined it is NOT euro 4 on a “w” reg. regards Kev.

Fair enough then, I thought the euro 4 requirement was set in stone but if TFL have said it’s ok then I guess it must be.

I was in London sightseeing with the family a couple of weeks ago, and noticed (what seemed like) loads of ‘old’ lorries e.g. S reg running around with no visible means of compliance. These mainly belonged to scaffolding firms (!)
Perhaps some folks just aren’t bothering…?
