Hi there,i have just been given a model lorry for my birthday and i’m trying to find some background information. Its an 8 wheel tanker in the livery of Thomas Allen Ltd who i think were based at Stanford Le Hope Essex. I was also told that the model was a centre piece for a show in 1953. The model is an AEC Mammoth Major and is made of metal so is really heavy, i’m thinking the tank is solid and the whole model is 2 feet in length so she is quite big. The detail is excellant and looks like the real thing, the number plate on it is TXP687. I look foreward to finding anymore info on it, many thanks, Geoff.
