Need an additional fridge

Floating around, usual govt think tank stuff and working on a court case over an old pre PoFA parking fine against some usual bottom feeding legal firm.

Oh and I discovered some vintage tribbing squirting vids that have took some considerable time to get through. Much better standard of acting on retro ■■■■.

Also 2 family weddings and internet ban by the wife.

Welcome back.
I`m surprised at your first post though. Must be a big pack of wet wipes to last 4 years?

When i was tramping i had like this minicoolers.co.uk/products/waeco/fr40.htm.It is was very good ,can keep to minus 10.But have 2 big minus.First very heavy.Empty weigh 12 kg.But if loaded about 20 kg .No any handle. When i back to truck from home that it is not easy and not safely to lift in cab.Second minus -can set up for -10 but all fridge have one section. If taked 1-2 kg frozen meat, vegetable but rest milk product, meat sliced that not possible keep at -10 because for meat sliced and milk product need just 0-+5.But frozen meat need at least -5 -10.May be some fridge have two section what can be nice

I would love a separate freezer but for a week only journey, I probably wouldn’t need it. Be great for those who travel farther afield such as Euro work.

Less need for it in Euro work. We arise in the morning, pick an orange or two from a handy tree, squeeze them into our glass. Pop into the resto where we are parked (free) for coffee n croisants. In the evenings it`s fresh cooked grub, with a small glass or so of the local brew. Only need a fridge for keeping he Perrier water chilled.

Could be done.

How much are you prepared to pay?

Just been into Tesco Luton, they have a 12/24-240 cooler takes 6x2L bottles for £59.00.

Other stores are available, check the spec, as some are only 12v- 240v.

Just off to get an additional fridge as my truck fridge has run out of capacity, just going to use it mainly for drinks and the odd item I cant fit in my built in. Got a week of long hauls next week and some of the deliveries I have are pretty remote. No services where I will be parking. Has anyone any comments on the halfords units? I hate buying something to find it useless. Its not going to be a compressor fridge granted its more an electric cool box. Anyone got one?

Yep. I’ve got the small Halfords one and it’s brilliant. It is the one that’s not so wide but will tend to fit lengthways front to back if you drive a Daf or Scania on the ‘hump’ between the driver and pax seat… It has 2 recessed bases on top for drinks cans. It is 12v so you need a dropper if you are a MAN driver. Keeps stuff really cool. I use it to keep my salad in or a few bottles which will stand upright. Thoroughly recommend it.

Any MAN I’ve driven have 24 v and 12 v sockets.

Where are the 12v buggers? The 24v one is in the hinged drawer near the ashtray. Where is the 12v one? Keen to know.

If I remember correctly, it’s a hella socket on the nearside of the the centre console, where your right knee would be if sat in the passenger seat!
There’s 2 there one 12v and one 24v, they should have caps on telling you which is which, if not google is your friend I’m sure

sure whats the point in buying a new one.didnt dozy say his mate says there all to be banned for causing cab fires?..fridge jesus buys coolbox…whatever next.tut tut tut.
however…my friend works in halfords and i bought that one (blue)■■? last year for a van i was building…on 12v its pure pish…use an inverter and run on 240 and itl work a lot better, otherwise, bung in some ice bags when your leaving home,or fill it with stuff you froze earlier and itl keep them cooler longer.

Took it back it was ■■■■. I got a much better one that works great on 12v.

UKtramp:

wise move…there just complete pish though for 70 you couldnt expect much, but you might expect the thing to work.
i changed it twice in a cpl month, then ■■■■ left it in the van once i converted it.

Yeah I took a punt on it but like you say on an inverter no problem, soon as it hit the truck, useless.

As a matter of interest, which one did you get?

I got the small one from Halfords with the usb charger built in, works a treat. At £20 its unbelievable how good it is.
