Hope I’ve put this in the correct board.
I am not a new driver, been a PCV/HGV driver for 9 years now… although I have been away on tour with a coach I have never spent time away in a lorry. I have always did day/night work of all types and at most I did double manned 21 hour stuff. However with options limited Ive taken a tramper job, so this is going to be new to me. I am basically looking for any nuggets of wisdom that you guys can impart to me, ESPECIALLY, what essentials I need to be taking away with me? How you guys eat? cook? and what you do with your downtime…? Is parking up at truck stops and socialising together something that happens at night? Do you guys have TV’s with freeview etc? Please note there will be a degree of cab hopping initially so obviously I cant be carrying everything.
