Need a new job scenario

Imagine the scenario, I applied for a job in October and got offered it  so I hand in my notice and then get offered what I want to stay so I stay. Anyway ended up staying put but it didn’t fix the underlying issue’s of wanting to leave.

So 5months down the line and I still need to leave and have re applied to the firm but no jobs are available but have been told they will give me a job when one comes up.
Now there is a company 4mile from my house that are takin on. So if you were to take a job would you leave a new job to start the one you really want even if you’re only at a new job a month or so if that makes sense.

work to live not the other way around. Do what best suit you, just try not to burn bridges as you never know what the next turn in this crazy game of life is gonna be.

I wish someone would offer me a desirable job…:frowning:

If i was sure the company i wanted to work for ultimately was really going to give me a job and not just talking bullshine, then i would stick the current job out for the time being.

Fast forward 5 years down the road, you don’t know where you’ll be in 5 years time nor what the job situation will be, imagine if one of the best jobs-for-life in the country is up for grabs (they existed before, they exist now, they’ll exist then) and you’re looking grimly at your unattractive CV peppered with too many job changes on there.

Those jobs for life, which you may not want now, but in the future might be just the ticket, want long stayers not here today gone tomorrowers.

Thanks, I hear what your saying I’m 41 and have only had 4jobs so cv isn’t littered but just struggling to go in to work everyday

If I was that unhappy in my current job I’d take another one for a few months until the job I really wanted became available, I’ve done it myself. You could be waiting ages for the job you want, life’s too short. If you’ve got the experience, a good safety record with references and the right attitude they’re looking for I couldn’t see it being a problem.

+3 and again, I speak from bitter experience. Staying in a job you have come to hate only leads to depression. If you’re dreading getting up in the morning to go to this job, leave now.

My CV comes in installments, a bit like those crappy “build your own Titanic” magazine things advertised on Watch. The ones where the first issue’s only £2 but the next 50 are £9.99.
I’ve gone back to flour delivering; Just got fed up with tippers with all the “rush rush rush, fiddle the weight on this ticket, doctor the address on this ticket” and fellow drivers ■■■■■■■■ about me finishing early. Strangely though, no ■■■■■■■■ about my early start times though.
I should never’ve left the flour TBH but couodn’t get my head around the physical side. Now I have I can’t just sit and drive backwards and forwards to the same place all day for days on end.

+4 and I took the anger to other jobs which I must’ve been mental to’ve gone and worked for.

As said, get out if you’re unhappy, unless a change to what makes you unhappy was offered I’d have left first time. Secondly there is no guarantee that the company you were going to will ever offer you another job, why would they? You’ve messed them around before, & they could be telling you anything to stop you ringing in all the time. What happens if you like the temporary job so much you don’t fancy leaving?

Thanks for all the replies, I am currently at the stage where when you get to work you feel deflated and just go pffffffff. Anyway im pretty sure I’ll get another crack as I’ve built up a good rapport with drivers and the traffic planner.
