I have a Navman i320 which has been a decent machine. But now it will not find the satellite. Doesn’t matter how long the machine is on, or whether I’m moving or stood.
Anyone else come across this problem with any make of sat nav.

First rule I have found with anything electrical is to remove the power (battery) and start again if you think it’s goosed. There may be a reset button to try first, then if all else fails try it. Can’t lose anything, it ain’t much cop at the moment.
Try reset button… its worked on my navman previously
And where’s the reset button?
Nothing obvious, and no mention on the Navman site.

It’s usually hidden behind a pinhole, with ‘reset’ written next to the hole. You press the button with a paperclip or something similar.

Already looked Simon. No pinholes, nothing. I’ve had the gray plastic face off and behind there is four very small pozy screws. When I can find a screwdriver small enough I’ll take these out, assess the situation, consider my options …
…then bray the bloody thing with an hammer

i checked the navman website for tech info…
it appears the 320 doesnt have a reset button
i would stand corrected on this though !!!
ps…
on the f20
if you turn unit on and hold the main menu button the unit goes into the engineers menu… this will give you all sorts of options…one of them being a reset option…
might be worth a shot…

Exactly the info I needed. Same idea on the iCN320 when switching on, loads of info and tests …
…still don’t work though
Get the feeling it’s poorly

SK,
dumb ques for ya…
have you changed the Sat settings by chance…
ie:
the WAAS/EGNOS or whatever,
i think i read somewhere that if you change these settings it can cause a glitch…i’ve not attempted it on my f20 as it is ok on current settings…
just a thought…
After a few days of it not working I’d given up and had begun looking for a new one. Then whilst watching the telly one night I heard it giving a direction. The daughter had switched it on to look for her mates address and it worked.
It’s worked for two out of the last three days, but now I just can’t trust it. Sod’s law says that the day when I do need it it won’t work.
