Naughty or Nice Move?

A34 North at a crawl this afternoon, traffic backing up the A420 to the interchange for over half a mile. I come down lane two, right around the roundabout and onto the A34 North sliproad. Had an angry toot from a couple of drivers who clearly felt cheated I’d jumped the traffic. I held nobody up, not my problem I had more road awareness than the others.
Was I right or wrong?

No not naughty if the Dozy pillocks in other lane can’t pull out quick enough

Controlled by traffic lights. Even with a couple of reds on the roundabout I still avoided a long delay.

It might depend on whether the lane markings allow it. I suspect they don’t - so wrong!
It certainly isn’t what the right hand lane is for normally. You’re just queue hopping.
It doesn’t make you brighter than anyone else it just makes you more impatient than others.

Get on ! :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

WTF? Did you just read the same post as me? And how exactly did you come to that conclusion?

I wouldn’t lose any sleep over it. Don’t shout about it otherwise everyone will be at it

its called…using your inititive instead of sitting with the lemmings

I believe so. Generally speaking the right hand lane at a roundabout is not for turning left from - even if you go all around the roundabout first.
It’s not rocket science. What exactly don’t you understand? Maybe I can help further.

Your not turning left if you turn the steering wheel to the right. The right hand lane is for going right. It doesnt say you MUST use a right exit. Its not queue hopping, its thinking outside the box.
Ive never seen a sign at a roundabout that says “For right exit roads only”. Once you enter a roundabout, anything after that is a seperate manouvre.

Lol.

+1…end of.

Not surprising really from some of you.

I seen to recall this has been discussed before, can’t be bothered looking but no doubt it will go the same way.

“I do that all the time as well” or “That’s not what the lanes are designed for” etc etc.

I was just wondering how the 206 ended up on its roof in the first place, it was certainly a good day out for the fire brigade, did it really need 3 to go to it?

they were probably annoyed because they did not think of it with their 2 brain cells, lol

For you “out of the box thinkers” and “initiative users” can’t you see that by extension your antics will eventually block the whole roundabout up?
A couple of artics and a van driver and 2 or 3 cars think it’s a good idea to run down the right hand lane, go round the roundabout then take the first exit.
Only problem is that that slip road is backed up. That’s the reason for the queue in lane one of the approach road!
So, you get to the exit and you can’t continue - because it’s BACKED UP! So you wait there with the other artic behind you and the van and the cars and ultimately block the whole roundabout.
Nice move guys! Very “professional” driving that is.
If I were a copper I’d prosecute the lot of you.

But he still sat with the lemmings, he just jumped in front of some of them first.

It’s called being a ■■■■.

This was discussed at length in the Beating the queues thread.

I’d join the queue…

I’m paid by the hour like most, and whenever possible, I like to get in a bit of bird watching!
Or failing that, just chillin…
