Has anyone been caught busting the no over taking ban recently? If so what were you fined? That road really hacks me off and seems pointless in its restrictions bearing in mind its a dual carriageway! I see many trucks passing each other depsite the ban. Your thoughts please …

As it is still the preferred route from Spain I think you will find the Spaniards would sooner pay a fine than the peage
I ran it yesterday, I have to admit to overtaking twice when behind someone travelling well under the 80klm limit.

Unless that is you are trying to get the HGV traffic to use the toll road instead.
Welshboy will be here when he’s finished his tea…
Never got stopped on that stretch but tend to behave during daytime unless I’ve got a very slow one in front, night time never seems to be a problem but I have been nicked south of Bordeaux when it wasn’t my fault, Dutchman had to slam on as copper pulled out in front of him so they collected from both of us( him for some other infringement).
Im tending to agree with the other poster here in that I generally over take after daylight hours. It never seems to be problem and everyone else seems to do it anyway when the car traffic is pretty much non existent. I was wondering what the penalities are more than anything.
Last I was caught it was €90 and they will look at everything else as it’s €90 per item that they find and French cops are on a 10% bonus of all fines they issue.
Think most fines are now in the region of €130 with the exception of tacho infringments where they now issue fines up to a max of €220,000
Never had a Problem, but i heard some get fined by running faster then 80 km/h by Rain.

The restrictions are due to the extremely high number of accident involving trucks on this route, particularly in the summer months. And as for the Spanish rather paying a fine than the peage, I think you might finfd that the fine is actually more than the cost of going on the A10 plus the additional hassle and potential for further fines if you are stopped by the gendarmes.
