just in case anyone is wondering why halifax & ainley top off junction 24 M62 was bad today, that was why.
hope the driver will be ok,he was airlifted away with serious injuries.it was a hinchcliffes wagon, from bury that went over,he had just loaded bales of waste paper from our place.

Best wishes to the driver.

Are more trucks going over nowadays, or are we just hearing about them more due to the internet?

You don’t happen to know what unit was pulling the trailer ? My mate Paul owns the trucks he drives the XF 105 and I think its his dad and brother that drive the other two trucks he’s got.

yeah, that’s how i know paul & his dad, from working at sonoco,i used to be on the weighbridge & then went driving the wagon & drags…there both very steady drivers, not sure of the truck as i was out all day on a course.got told when later on today what had happened by a colleague who called me…hope the driver pulls through…

Having loaded bales of paper at Sonoco myself I can’t understand how he managed to roll a waggon going up that hill. My truck wouldn’t go up there fast enough.

he had loaded out heath recycling, not sonoco mate.we had to send an artic to the scene to recover all the bales.it was well before the left hand bend heading up the bypass,i have a heard a car cut him up,but it’s just hear say.
was told his arm was in a very bad way & may have to be amputated & he had suffered bad head injuries as well. :frowning:
poor bloke,hope he pulls through…

It was a plain white DAF unit, the driver is a man in his 60’s. He’s in a bad way in Leeds general, hope he’s ok. (I can’t post links, but I got this information from the Huddersfield Examiner)
