Mystery switch

Switch in question 0

That’s (normally) the diesel heater switch, if fitted, IIRC. If you look very closely there’s probably the remains of a worn out snowflake symbol on it. otherwise, could be an old switch for rear working lights.

good choice of radio station, especially danny Kelly in the morning.

Got behind it today and done a bit of digging about got sum snaps as I’m still confused.

Right here’s for a attempt to explain what I saw.

That number on the plug comes up on Google as a “rear beacon harness” .

The yellow and black cable coming off the plug go back into the dash somewhere but have been cut and spliced onto the heated mirror wires (it’s the switch next door )

red goes back out to the dash

Another red goes back off to the dash

At first I thought it would be as simple as reconnecting the wires however I found that clipping both the spliced wires back out the beacon still runs so seems it’s getting it’s live from sum were else. Seems one of the reds is permanent live and one is the switched live anyone out there with this adapter or know the pin layout

I also tried to trace the beacon wire back to the cab but I loose that over the back axel

was that an Irish lorry ?
Could that be “The Switch”

The fuse is out

definitely not a “must make the boat at 120k button”…1 wire…1 magnet…job done…

Not a Scotchlock in sight.

No lucky it’s done with crimps and as much as I enjoy the banter I came to find help if it’d around lol

How fast does it go?
Is it revving it’s ■■■■ off with those little wheels on the drive axle?
Or has it got different gearbox / diff ratios to suit those little wheels?

Good question actually!

Nah it just won’t rev with the clutch in really crappy imo sometimes on hill starts it won’t kick in and it pulls away no problem after first shift then times it just take long gear changes and there’s a lot of bumping as the clutch comes out can’t match the engine speed and it bog down so you have to dip the clutch again

Just a thought. That switch in the second snap-shot looks to be centre zero ( off ) position like electric window switch. Has the previous owner had 'two tones ( train horns ) fitted ?..

When the reg is run through Google the ad is still up from the dealer. Says 1 owner from new. Surly they would know the original owner?

Is it me or is it the fact it has a P cab that makes the roll over hoop look as if it’s way up there…

I no its had multiple owners we think we no them different problem today complete electrical failure or the rear end the junction box is shot so off 2 a auto electrician to be rewired hope it’s back for.my shift Friday back in my old dad I felt so primitive my ears are still ringing

Centre on switch no 2tones fitted the switch in question is linked to the" night heater fuse " in the box that’s got rear beacon pend in but the wires have been hacked into the heater switch

That add lies it has a 14 tonne winch that’s never bloody worked properly just had to order a new valve for it

My way of thinking was you could spend hours and hours trying to chase it through the wiring. Whereas a couple of calls could save you a headache. If it has had multiple owners though it could be more of a pain.

Time to leave it to the pros this has been messed with before
