My trailer sunk. lol

eagerbeaver:
Is it just me,or does that bulk trailer look like its full of giant spectacles?

It’s just you dear. Drink your tea.

Left a trailer with prefab concrete walls on a site in Deptford while I bob tailed it back to Vauxhall to get another one. I said to Paddy, Unload the front first. I’ll leave the rest for you to work out what I found when I got back. :unamused:

Before the times of cheap cameras and mobiles. Severnside waste paper down by the Feeder in Bristol we had one like Tangos, but the best one was when the roof of the bunker gave way. The whole trailer disappeared :open_mouth:

Yeah I wish I’d had a camera back in time. Early 90’s went to a farm to pick up a loaded Spud bulker, it were about 6am just getting light, late September. The farmer boys were in a flap, they’d loaded the bulker on the field late the previous evening, as they had been doing all week and left it there hooked upto a tractor with a dolly. It hosed down with rain all night, and when someone had gone earlier that morning to bring it upto the Farm, ready for when I arrived to do a change over, they found it had all sunk right down to the axles back end off the Tractor too. They had to get a generator and unload it there into the empty bulker I had bought in. I cleared off to do something else

Perhaps it would be pertinent to remind you that there are dangers in loading an uncoupled trailer - it is not unknown for one to nosedive while being loaded!

Hi guys fairly new too trucking. Well so is my depot! I managed to find a soft spot in our depot and with a fully loaded trailer I uncoupled to go fuel up. Came back to find a sunken ship…lol special thanks to lanterns who help raise it so I could get under it while [zb] myself . The trailer almost fell on its side twice. It’s been 3 days and the first time I uncoupled in that area with a loaded trailer. Won’t be parking there again. The trailer managed to survive minus a bent handle for my legs and bent bar it’s given the all clear.

Question Time. Now I’m nervous to uncouple with it fully loaded. Guys is this okay to uncoupled while loaded. Plus I fill my own lorry up as got jcb license. Is it safe to fill my trailer up while its on its legs. Is it safe to pound at the contents as we have to really pack these trailers or would this put stress on be legs. I’m still in shock from the trailer sinking. But got a laugh. Lol.

Lanterns must be specialists a lifting sunken trailers. My dad dropped a loaded trailer off at Whelham Green and it sunk and Laterns came out then. This was in the mid 90’s

0Trailer in our yard lol

Jeez…dear Go…, what the hell? Typically tipper. Overloaded and punches straight through Mother Earth with the legs sticking out in some desert in Australia. Or did your yard get “people who like to travel” to do your concreting?

Skillful auto censor dodge, James…nice one!
