My tip of the day

Know who you are talking to before telling them to go forth and multiply!

Turned up at my collection, parked where I normally park to go into office, some small scruffy bloke starts waving, pointing and shouting something from a smoking shelter 50 metres away.
Can’t make out what he is saying so carry on walking towards the office, and him.
We meet at the bottom of the steps to the office, and he goes right into one, jabbing his finger at me, raising his voice, all about the one wheel I have apparently left on a walkway! I try to explain that if I come further forward I will be blocking the trailers in, but he just keeps cutting me off.
In the end I tell him to calm down and stop pointing his finger at me, that I think he is incredibly rude and should learn some respect for people.

I move the truck.

Then I get a phone call from the boss, it was the site manager I had just met! He’s not happy!
Boss asked me to apologise… And even though it goes against the grain because I am new here, I did.

I thought he was the shunter, scruffy little ■■■■.

My tip to you now, is watch what you say on here, someone could be reading it

He could have introduced himself and perhaps explained it all a little better by the sound of it.

When he was poking his finger at you, Didn’t you get an urge to bite it off? or just break it?
That is a normal urge that everyone gets, isn’t it?

My tip for the day is not to eat yellow snow!

I would have pointed out that respect is earned. And as he was a rude little ■■■■■ you behaved pretty well spot on really.

If he was the site manager and he behaved like that, I’d suggest the person that employed him as such is also a nob. I would suggest it was you that should have received an apology not him.

A little bit of politeness wouldn’t have gone a miss

Amen to that

As for the site " manager " sounds to me like he needs man-" manage"ment lessons as well as getting rid of the little man syndrome … :exclamation:

Four little words.

“Sorry, and you are?”

The last time someone did that to me, I signed the delivery note, Location Not Suitable For Delivery, gave them the top copy, and took the load back to the depot. Never had another problem after that

No such thing as a man manager in the UK these days or any sort of manager really. Rude, arrogant, ignorant and totally up their own backsides in my opinion and all piling into the must be noticed to be effective tosh! Karma! It’s a great thing and comes to all in the end!

My tip especially for this week is don’t pull into a snow covered layby with an uphill gradient or it could be a longer break than anticipated :grimacing:

If people are rude and ignorant with me I have two methods I use, the first is to be really polite and smile a lot, that really ■■■■■■ them off, the second is to respond in kind and I can do rude, ignorant and behaving in a threatening manner very well

Or go down a single track off the B1393, Essex which leads to Latton Priory Farm. The single track was a sheet of ice with a slight hill to go down and then up, like a dip. The truck was stuck with a car in front and a car behind wanting to get past   I bet he had a long day bless him
