Where i live by the Chartist Bridge you get jumpers every now and then. Its a drop into the woods below.
Winseer:
Perhaps there is a mental low-health state that makes a person think “If I jump under this vehicle - they’ll be sorry they ignored me when I said I was depressed!”Could be worse though…
Take any typical “Sucide by Cop” event in America for instance…
Disgruntled employee turns up at office the day after they get sacked - tooled up.
Kills a number of people, often not known to them beforehand, before finding the main target for their ire, at which point the ammunition has invarably run out (emptied magazine into hated jobsworth…) and the cops turn up: Perp lifts up empty gun at cops, and duly gets blown away on sight, as expected.“Rinse and Repeat”.
Some say “Get rid of guns”, others say “Concentrate more on mental health issues”.
How about “not upset people to the point of driving them to suicide/murder” in the FIRST place huh?
Mental State and Mental Illness doesn’t make you think. Period. These people are very ill, they are not thinking, they are not rational, everyone is against them, the health service cannot cope with modern pressures of life.

Surely an “Insane Resolve” - needs to be decided upon as a “Thought”?
You don’t see many people “killing themselves gently” these days, such as self-administered lethal injection (not a junkie accidentally ODing) or even “sleeping pills od, found dead in their bed the next morning”…
Murder/suicides - nearly always involve a firearm, whereas “solitary” efforts all-too-often involve making a big show of it in front of the public, involving a means of public transport even…
Tube Trains, Trucks, and Overground trains - but oddly not as many “express” trains as one might expect, nor running out under cars - or even Buses come to that.
A strange pattern that, but there will be a pattern there, nonetheless…
There’s been a few jumpers from the two M2 brides notorious for it - Over the River Medway @ Cuxton, and over the Stockbury Junction 5, where the motorway is over 100 feet above the valley below.
There’s even been tales of these J5 M2 jumpers “accidentally” killing themselves, pulling up for a ■■■■ at night, maybe in the fog, vaulting over the concrete barrier, - not realizing there was a 100ft+ drop on the otherside onto the A249…
What we driver’s community people need to do though - is make sure THIS doesn’t keep happening to one of our own.

Lord knows, I know what it feels like to be depressed of late…
I deal with it by “getting angry”. If you can find someone else to blame instead of yourself for all what’s wrong in your life right now, - you’re far less likely to be looking down from a bridge anytime soon.
Odd days:
If that was a train driver that it happened to, they would be off work on full pay with counciling. Then gently returned to work with full support. Can you see that happening for an hgv driver ?
We had one years ago , bloke jumped off bridge in notts & ended going up/ over wheels , Terry is dead now so won’t bother him , but he was questioned by idiot manager over why he took the route he did , it was only
When hr got involved was he given the time off he should of been given in the first place
What summed it up for me was sitting on a bay at jct 27, my
Mate rolled in & straight away you could see mudguards ripped off & blood everywhere , when I asked him what had happened , he said your not meant to see it ,it’s the lorry
Where the chap jumped off the bridge , coppers impounded unit / tri & when released apparently the instruction was for it to go straight back to yard , but idiot manager decided to send it to jct 27 to get it tipped first
Terry was more concerned about the poor soul who died in what must of been a horrendous way , last Terry said they hadn’t been able to ascertain who the person was
I can’t remember for sure as it was when we did jct 27, so chilled , so I’d guess 10+ yrs ago but I think until hr got involved terry was told to just have a couple of nights off
My thoughts go to the driver too. How awful a thing to have to deal with…
I can’t believe the windscreen didn’t shatter, that’s odd
mrginge:
Looks like The Rock did The Peoples Elbow jumping from the bridge.
