hi guys .
sorry i aint let you know b4 how i got on but i have failed again.
the reverse went a treat no problems and everything else went fine, well
at least i thought i t did.when i drove out of the test centre i was told to turn left,
and there was some prik parked right on the corner, so i had to make me way around him, great start i thought. as it was a 2.30 test it was very quiet on the roads and it was going real well until i had this junction where it has 2 blind spots on the left and right, after waiting wat seemed light ages i i made a move and as i was half way across the road some ■■■■■■■ car came roaring
around the corner, obviously i could not do anything and made the car brake quite hard, hence pulling out in front of him.the rest of the drive went faultless
then when we were back at the test centre i was asked to uncouple, did this no problems then i was asked to couple up as if i aint ever seen the trailer b4.
whilst i was doing the checks i noticed one of the trailer tyres was of the rim.
i then told the examineer I WOULD NOT USE THIS TRAILER AS THETYRE IS FAULTY, thought i would mention it just incase he had seen it.i then asked him if he wanted me to carry on coupling up just to finish the exercise and he told me not to and just explain to him the rest as the tyre would have to be repaired.after all that i was asked to get back into the unit. he opened his folder and i am sitting there sweat dripping of me forhead and he says those
dreaded words I AM SO SORRY arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
no no noooooooooooooooo. . in all honesty the examineer seemed really sorry for me and said i failed on UNDUE HESITENT at that junction with the car.he asked if he took me for my last test and i said yes 2 weeks ago and he told me so sorry, hope to see you next time, i said to be honest i doubt it as it is so expenx=sive and he did agree that it was but told me not to give up as
i have come this far and it was a good drive.HELLO …then why the xxxx did you fail me.i told my wife that i i should should accept it that i just aint good enough for 90 minutes to pass the test but she disagrees and has told me to do another test. another £300 i just dont know wat to do i will think about it thrw the weekend i think.
thanks for your support guys.
vigfanbke.
Very sorry to hear about your failure vig. It sounds to me like you did indeed drive well but, sadly, it only takes one serious / dangerous mistake to fail which ANYONE can make at anytime so don’t be too hard on yourself. Your examiner said it was a good drive and I can’t imagine he’d say this without good reason.
Vig,
Sorry to hear about your test. It’s your decision but I really thnk you should persevere; I know another test is expensive but it would be better that you looked back on it later thinking ‘it cost me £■■■ to get this licence’ rather than ‘I wasted £■■■ to get nothing.’
My last (C+E) student (I am a driving instructor) had only one minor driving fault during his 90 mins out on the road but still failed!! He had stopped 1" short of the ‘box’ during the reverse exercise and yet all week through training had got it perfect every time.
Failing can happen to the best of us. The trick is to re-org, consolidate and then bounce back!!
vigfanbke.hi, sorry tohear about the result mate, but first you examiner has all ready said you gave a good drive ,yesalright with a mistake that unfortunatly he had to say no-pass, BUT;& BUT again he also stated that
yor driveing in all other respects was good and that he hoped to see you again for a new test albeit yes when the financal situation allows,
NOW mate your good wife as you stated has also said that you should do another test .well you take your time andthink it over,as itis a desicion that only you can execute ,STILL how about these examples of persistents
maybe they might help to convince you that "“YOU WILL PASS” as we all know the road is not easy but the end is in sight with
ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY;;; ROBERT-THE-BRUCE NEVER GAVE UP
and the most important quote
WE KNOW THAT YOU CAN DO IT SO CARRY ON
this came first from the examiner, then from your wife, and last from all of us here on net, you can do it mate.so they you have it,
Hi vigfanbke, sorry to hear you did not quite get there this time, sounds as though you had a cracking drive apart from the one incident which in my humble view he could have given the benefit of the doubt, its a very fine line between hesitance and genuine caution.
You must stick with it, to come this far and not keep going would be a real shame. Good luck for next time.
Sorry to hear about your test this time vigfanbke
but I hope you decide to carry on as I am sure you
will get it. Good luck for next time or whatever you
choose to do.
Really sorry to hear that news.
If you can afford it, give yourself a chance.
marcustandy:
Vig,Sorry to hear about your test.
Me too Vig. It’s a killer when he says the old “I’m sorry, but…”
marcustandy:
My last (C+E) student (I am a driving instructor) had only one minor driving fault during his 90 mins out on the road but still failed!!
I managed two minors on my first go at class 1 and still failed.
Unlucky, Vig.
It ■■■■■■ me off hearing people failing on the actions of others. If you hit a curb (or cyclist) then I can understand failing, but a bit of hesitation?
Sorry to hear that m8.Why do some examinors do this How many time’s have you pulled out of a r/abt,junction etc and some arse of a car driver come’s tearing round the road, and your forced to put the brake’s on.We have heard marcustandy admit that his student failed for stopping 1’'short of the box and he’s been doing it no prob’s all week.(Why fail him for something that come’s with practice and experiance) .And just to ask how many guy’s on here when revearsing have to revearse into a yellow box NONE.So my to any examinor/instructor out there is this. Why have a box , What purpose does it serve ( apart from none). And when are test center’s going to catch up with us ( ie doing lesson’s with full loads, proper loading dock’s for revearsing onto during lesson’s and test’s).Don’t you think that these would be more beneficial to someone doing their test rather than a silly yellow box which serve’s no purpose at all.
sorry to hear about that vig m8 but I think that with a couple of generally good test drives under your belt then you have to try again.
the fact that your wife is supporting you in forking out for a retest(money that could be spent on clothes lol)should help in making your mind up.
If you do go ahead then good luck for the retest m8 and keep us posted-
Sorry to hear about your result. If it’s any consolation I’m in exactly the same position as you. At least you and your examiner get on. I can’t stand the one I had and have opted for another centre for my next attempt. On my 1st attempt I was entering the roundabouts too quickly forcing cars on my right to slow as they got behind me. I was told I was overlooking the length of the vehicle. Sure. On the 2nd attempt I was waiting too long? Couldn’t win!
Haven’t decided when I’ll attempt it again though. I was going to try again in August but I think I’ll do it later. Besides I’m getting almost as much for C2 drives as I would for a C1 haul so sod it
It’s a shed load of money to waste and now with Pole/Turk drivers coming in and EU WTD’s there’s not a lot to look forward to. That’s my humble opinion.
Better luck next time
Sorry to hear you failed Vig I hope you do try again though it seems a shame to get so far and then stop.
You’ve got this far, not give up now.
