Takes a man to admit when he´s made a mistake or needs a hand
Wheel Nut:
I doubt I would have turned round there, easier to back out into the road or get the car shifted.
I reckon this bloke needs to select his turning places a bit better too
I think he did well to get where he did! Not going any further though…
You wonder how they got it out, crane maybe?

I nearly ended up with something similar once back in my early days of driving artics. Got myself in a bit of a fix and didn’t fancy the blind-side reverse onto the main road to get out so thought I could jack it round in the customer’s yard. What a lot of drivers don’t realise (just like me at the time) is that when you get the cab past 90 degrees to the trailer, the trailer starts moving backwards and, as you can see in the pics above, if it’s too close to something then it can’t move very far to give you the swing you need in the cab and the end result is that you get jammed. I actually contacted the wall of the mill as I was jacking it round but thought I’d got away with it, unfortunately I didn’t notice that the front corner of the trailer had caught the chain link fence in front of me and I made a bit of a mess of it

Reversing the cab back on its original oath, but at that angle he’ll probably have traction issues I expect.
are those fuel tanks bolted on the underside of the trailer?? transcontinentalsuperlonghaul trailer so driver dont have to stop to refuel as often?
With that car parked there I wouldn’t have tried it unless there was no other option and even then I would either want someone to watch me back in or I’d be getting out umpteen times to check where I was reversing.
Grenville Avenue in Torquay is one to avoid, took a wrong turn out of a site and ended up going round there, road started getting narrower and narrower what with parked cars on one side and steep banking on the other, in the end I had no choice but to reverse all that way back up the road.
A couple of weeks later an Evans wagon and drag went to the same site and also took a wrong turn down Grenville Avenue, only they tried to squeeze through, ended up getting wedged in, wrecking six cars in the process.

No, it’s obviously to run the big [zb] off sized machine that’s sat on the trailer!

There’s a saying in aviation that any landing you walk away from is a good one.
Similar thing probably holds true in driving. If you got out without damage, all is well!
I remembered another one, just to make you feel better…
Who else here knows the old road south into Genoa? The SP35…
maps.google.ca/maps?q=genoa&ie=U … .1684&z=13
Anyone else remember the low bridge on the north side of Mignanengo, the 2.7 metre one? How about the next three low bridges within half a mile?
I sure as hell do, but I got under all of them in a Premium with a 34000 litre road barrel thanks to the crew of the dustcart who stopped and watched me under all of them… Ended up nearly crying with gratitude and giving them all the money in my pocket for a beer…
Happens to all of us. If you have any Trucking mags. look for a my mistake about 3 years ago involving Puigcerda, Spain… That was me…
Yes & I made a mistake last night at work we normally load stillages of car parts these are normally stacked 2 high which is not a prob but last night the flt driver decided to load 3 high ( yes I know im the driver it is my responsibility ) but he couldnt be bothered to take 1 off & place on back separately
So left ( for those that know Nissan ) there are 2 90o bends was approaching 1st as an artic was approaching in opposite direction so I stopped as was easier also you cant get both of us round at the same time so he came through I then set off & thump they all fell over ( yep full ) ripped curtains on the driver side from top to bottom when opened contents were all out so back to loading place as was easier as there is more light & people as it had been raining quite heavy during the night as this did happen approx. 01.00 this morning
Think most of what was in the stillages are fine but some have ben sent to QA to be checked I had to fill in accident report
So now I just have to wait
Unluckily we learn by our mistakes in this game i bet no one will do it again.
Groovy Greg,
Two mistakes Amateur
Now if you’d ballsed it up like that Haliburtons Kenworth, that would be something to be embarassed about, but you got out of a sticky situation, can’t see a lot wrong with that
look forward to hearing about mistakes 3,4 and 5, they should be, in no particular order, dropping a trailer on its knees, ripping air & electrical suzies out and taking the wrong trailer, when you’ve done all them you’ll be a proper driver

But dont forget ripping the curtains, having a pallet or 3 go over, reversing into something & breaking the rear light cluster on trailer

Horrendous record you have then considering there’s about 1 female trucker to every 10,000 male truckers. (straight from the RK book of self-made statistics).
But Rob it wasnt me who dropped any of the 3 containers that have been done this week at work they were all down to males
Posted these before but i thought i’d show you a few i’ve seen over the years…
Strong wind!
Soft ground
Curry anyone■■?
Low bridge in Bristol, forget the name of the area but it’s down where the Toyota garage is.
This doofus tried to blindside a drawbar alongside me and ripped the front corner off his load!!!
Self explanitory!!!
