Yes I admit I totally ■■■■■■ up today! I was trying to find a place called J.Pao in Park Royal I was following my sat nav and had a bit of advice from a friend. I was told that the roads are tighter than a ducks arse so I followed my nav and it tells me to turn down sunbeam avenue, it looks tight but ok enough so I go down get half way and it tells me to turn right (no chance) its really tight cars parked both sides, so I ignor hoping to be re directed. Get to the bottom and it tells me to turn right its still tight but not as so I go for it try to take a wide line and crack, the trailer swing has hit a saab (looks like a scrapper anyway as it had no engine and was on slave wheels, but not the point) realise Im not going to get round and had to do almost 1/2 mile reverse back was proper ■■■■■■■■ myself about needing recovering and being in the papers losing my job house kids wife etc etc luckily I managed to get backed out after about 45 mins of trying. God I hate London.

Strange. I thought Pao was on a one-way street that was not accessible from Sunbeam.
Strange that SatNav told you to go that way, or did it ?

Delivery yard is in Minerva Road, try NW10 6HH in your SatNav next time, should take you straight to it. (But make sure you go in from Park Royal Road is it’s a one way street.)
I guess we’ve all got into a tight spot at some stage as HGV drivers…never got stuck though (…touch wood !), ok once you know where you’re going but I’ll always double check a road atlas, google maps or stop and ask someone if I’m a bit unsure rather than commit myself to a dodgey looking side road and despite how great I think my new sat nav is I still wouldn’t trust it 100%.
A few months ago I left the ferry terminal at Dublin Port with a double deck trailer for a tip in Dublin. Too big to go through the tunnel so my sat-nav took me through the city centre which didn’t pose too much of a problem. Heading out of there after getting tipped was another story though !!! Road closures got me totally lost and diversions took me down small residental streets, weight restrictions, junctions I thought I might not get round, cars double parked and an arse-clenching moment when I came up to a level crossing with overhead power lines and 5 inches of clearance … It was a nightmare and I thought I was never going to get out of there !!!

NW10 6EU is the postal address which is in Standard Road, but the delivery yard is round the back in Minerva Road. Cant think why the satnav would send you into Sunbeam Road, unless it was to get you to the right end of Standard Road which was the wrong place anyway!
If terrorists bombed Park Royal, would anyone notice or care?

That’s it - Minerva Road.
I used to come in via the M1 and North Circular to Abbey Road.
Past the hospital and a left - right - left into Park Royal Road and Minerva Road.
I also did Greencore nearby - a nightmare reverse off the road with cars parked everywhere. The whole area is full of rats, big rats.

A little map drawn on the back of an envelope by a fellow driver before you set off from the depot is worth a thousand sat nav directions that’ll put you down 300m away, often on the wrong side of bollards, one way streets, or even the wrong estate entirely!

When I put the address in and not the postcode it took me straight to it, Park Royal Greencore I didnt think was too bad actually.
It wont happen again anyway!
I used to deliver flour around there, it amazed me how food producers are allowed to operate from such run down filthy premises. I’ve heard the Sunbeam Road area is threatened by HS2- I hope so, the whole place needs flattening. Why has that pile of rubbish never been cleared at the entrance, or those cars towed away? Agree with the post about big rats- the place is a goldmine for Rentokill.
To the OP, don’t worry about hitting cars around there, I’ve seen several people in all sizes of vehicle do it and all have driven off.

Yup. That’s London for you!
The Chinese call it Rundown
What is park royal? It get mentioned on here quite a bit. Is it some sort of super rdc with 300 loading bays trucks in and out 24/7 ten minute turnaround etc?

I will answer this even though I think you know the answer, it is a part of london that is heavily industrialised, with small to medium sized businesses, there is no parking for the staff that work at these places, so the park on the roads (both sides), often there is only a trucks width and a rizla paper between the cars to there will usually be a loading/unloading area but no room to turn the truck around, there is no order of ques, people just pile into the company premises as there is nowhere to park and wait, there is no where for miles to take a break and there are raised kerbs on many corners, most roads are 1 way and the staff are usually arse holes

Well described Also Hanger Lane Gyratory could be on your route to get there!!
Only good thing about the place is the wide selection of snack vans, and a few look clean…
Ace Cafe is just up the road if you want something better…
