Just as the title says. Got a good deal on a home study pack from Friendberry via one of TNUK’s Finest
I will probably back it up with a classroom course in the summer (yes I know the original plan was March, but…)
Funds have been a bit low so just going to start ploughing through the notes. Going to get my hands on Lowe’s TM book as (from what I have read on here) it helps as a reference.
Hopefully it will not kerflummox me too much and my brain will manage the information well. There is certainly a fair bit to digest.
So basically, that’s it. Just thought I’d let you all know that I’m starting the OCPC journey and I’m sure I’ll have a few questions for those of you in the know.
Good luck with it Dean, it is a hard slog but you seem quite bright and I think you should have little trouble with it. I think the classroom course is a good idea, my tutors anticipated the questions with such uncanny accuracy that we virtually ran through the exam paper the day before the test. Any questions, fire away but meantime I suggest reading through past test papers and particularly the examiners’ reports which will explain where failed candidates went wrong.
As said on other threads, I know I’m not going to have a truck on the road this year. But it’s a first step and I’m going in with my eyes open and all of the advice on here (even RobK’s )
I’m planning to do exactly the same as you, with taking the exam in June. I’ve also got the Friendberry books and CDs etc, and have worked through several of the past papers. Don’t have problems with most of it, just need to get to grips with the O-licensing regs and procedures etc.
Good luck with it - lets hope we’ve both got good news to report this autumn!

It’s a qualification well worth having in its own right, especially as TCs are restricting the amount of firms an external TM can work for. It’s only going to become more valuable as time goes by.
I originally got the home study books but was to easily distracted to get to grips with it and done a classroom course with sigma studies in Essex who were great.
It is a lot to take in especaly as most of us have t say in a class room since the day we left school.
Good luck anyway

I agree that it’s gonna be hard going getting to grips with it knowing all the likely distractions.
As I said it’ll just be as a base for a classroom course.
