My first job last night!

Hello all,

I had my very first class 1 job last night! Had the call at 3PM to get to Bedwas, Caerphilly for 4PM, no pressure then…

I was to do two deliveries for peters pies. First drop in Murgraves in Wellingborough and then Aldi in Atherstone.

I drove a Mercedes Benz Actros with EPS gearbox, and may I mention this, what an awful way to change gears!! So SLOW! But I got the hang of it and in the end was ok, but think I’d much rather a slap-over gear box in the end.

But overall a good night, ended up back in home depot at 3am so a long day of 10hr 45min but hopefully the start of many!

Great news. Let’s hope there are plenty more shifts where that came from.

And me to mate, im just lucky my father came to assist me on my first run, lucky he was home to be honest!

Another 2 shifts for Peters Pies starting tonight and tomorrow night! Both 11PM starts and i’ll be doing Warrington/Chesire & Runcorn! In that order though :confused: Oh well, what the customer wants, they get!

I enjoyed the Peters Pies runs myself, guys are pretty decent too!

I got my first run there also, only had my licence 1 day & get a call 11pm can you work at 2:00am, 3 cups of coffee and a proplus later started the shift. I drove that exact truck, quite an intelligent truck, nice interior, I agree the shift gears are a nightmare though took me about 1/2 hr to figure out how to move the thing.
