My dickhead award goes to

The prize ■■■■■■■■ award for October goes to the Musgrave driver pulling a container on the A19 this afternoon.
After I eased off then flashed him in after he overtook me then immediately braked and indicated to pull into Exelby services must warrant for the top knobhead trophy and I would personally give it to him myself how the f*ck do they get there licence ( that’s if he had one)
and my second award goes to the car driver who backed off to let me swerve out.

:unamused: Everyday stuff - get over it and have a beer

Least he got in, saw a few try to get in yesterday but because of works there couldn’t get into services when someone’s fuelling up, arse end stuck out into carriageway. Accident waiting to happen at moment is that place !

Pet hate of mine this, by that I mean drivers who cant anticipate the actions of other road users. Dont worry after youve been driving more than 5 minutes you will realise any form of junction, slip road is a potential for a braking opportunity.

You will also realise that lurching into another lane because your too lazy to brake is frowned upon. Luckily in this situation the car driver has no doubt witnessed pro driver muppetry like yours before so was well placed to control the situation.

You flashed the driver in so you felt the distance was safe to do so, learn to anticipate the unexpected and if poop happens accept your fate without buggering up the flow in another lane.

The amount of drivers I see reach for the indicator stalk in a panic before the brake pedal amazes me.

So you ‘swerved out’, please tell me your in control of nothing bigger than a 7.5tonner.

Im confused. You want to give an award to the car driver who braked to let you swerve out? If he hadnt braked you’d have hit him. Sounds like he deserves a medal for forward thinking and anticipation, not a ■■■■ award.

I think you’ve mis read that Snowman, or I have.
The award goes to the HGV driver for being of questionable parentage. The car driver anticipated the incident and held back.

To be fair I think its the thread title and the ops posting style, if its like his driving style then confusion is bound to happen.

Perhaps the op could buy a dashcam then cast blame on others for situations he creates more often.

Maybe im trollin but im yet to encounter a situation on the road that neccesitates a forum whinge. I put it down to newbies and maybe folk with no aptitude for driving. Whatever if they aint man enough to sort it out on the road then they are just crybabies.

Blimey why not follow the offending driver into the services and sort it out girl to girl.

I love it when a thread backfires on the OP. It’s what we do best here at TruckNet.

Lets get one thing understood Dippy Dave that I have over 30years experience driving Artics and I know one rule and that is if I need to exit a road I make sure im not overtaking at the same time like that pillock was, another 200 yards he would of missed it…if I hadn’t flashed him he would of cut in anyway .

Im beginning to wonder by your reply that you think its common practice to just overtake then cut in!!

Playing the ‘experience’ card doesnt help at all, kind of reminds me of an old driver I tried to help once who was so stuck in his ways that he might has well of just said, “ive been cocking it up for 30 years so why stop now”.

One thing my vast 6 months of experience has taught me is that everyday is a learning day and other road users will do the unexpected. Surely in your 30 years you have experienced this before. Oh and as far as rules of the road go they are open to interpretation and massive breaches in moments of muppetry, we all do it just as pro’s we learn to accept it and crack on.

Still cant get over this swerving business but surely experience has taught you that any kind of off slip has potential for shenanigans, maybe he wouldnt have pulled off if you hadnt of flashed, who knows but perhaps be a little less eager on the flasher next time.

Im beginning to wonder by your reply that you think its common practice to just overtake then cut in!!

Not common but possible, expect the unexpected or in this case the potential for a driver of a large vehicle to drop a bollock like both of you did. Luckily the car driver had a high standard of awareness or more likely had little choice.

If it helps ive just made a right lash up of a simple reverse and am on the receiving end of the usual “drivers and screwdrivers” ribbing from my colleagues.

Just to stick my neb in here
I reckon the guy just made a mistake, he had pulled out to overtake you, on maybe 4hrs 25m, and maybe also on auto pilot (as we all get sometimes) did not realise he was near Exelby servs, suddenly saw he was and thought ‘‘Oh ■■■■ I intended to come off here’’
.
Now if you were a complete ■■■■ you would have kept him out, as a lot do, but you were not, and he saw you were good enough to flash him in.
So maybe he misread it, and wrongly thought that you had somehow realised his intention, and his ■■■■ up, and were allowing him to pull into serv, …as a good driver would :bulb:
.
However you did not and just thought he was coming the ■■■■.
I reckon that you should have just eased off and let him pull in and allow the car behind you to overtake to be honest mate, instead of as you say and admit to ‘‘swerving out’’
(You say to Dave that you ‘KNOW’ he would have cut in, how so? I think more like you assumed he could have and/or was going to more like.,…and nothing wrong with that, it’s anticipation…fair enough.)

Instead of easing and waiting, you saw red (again ok, as we all do) made a ‘gesture’ of swerving out, to show the driver who you reckon cut you up, the fact that you were ■■■■■■ with him.

Luckily the car driver read the situation and backed off to let you out. (Still can not see your reasoning for calling the poor car driver a ■■■■ though  don’t get that at all)

I know what you are saying about some licence holders today impersonating Class 1drivers, I am always boring the arses off everybody on here banging on about it as I am of similar experience to you, and naively think one or two of these ■■■■ s may take notice…(not holding breath)
I am not convinced this applies in this case, imo it was just caused by a lapse of concentration.

Not saying I am any better driver than you mate, I make lapses of judgement and balls ups like the rest of us, just giving my take on it that’s all.

I’ve always fancied a career as a Judge, I would look really good in a curly wig

I should have said it’s what TruckNet members whose posts appear instantly and therefore actually get noticed do best.

Tbf the masses do tend to press the submit button before proof reading their posts, which can lead to various bloopers

I should slip in here (mainly because theres not enough ■■■■ in any of my posts on this thread) that im also guilty of premature ■■■■■■■■■■■ in the flashing department not to mention shooting me bolt once before the wife got her undercrackers off. To be fair she did say it was the best 10 seconds she had ever had.

Ok so someone made a mistake! No one was hurt and everything turned out alright.

Now, while certain argumentative posters are chilling/sorting responses out I would also suggest the same two look at the different meanings to a couple of words. Of and Off are two different words and have entirely different meanings! I could start a new thread about ■■■■ awards but I can’t be bothered
