For my birthday, my wife and sons bought me a 2018 Kawasaki z900rs as I loved the kawasaki Z1, had one in the seventies and became my best bike ever until now. If anyone is thinking of getting one, just get it. It is better than the original. Fast, handles like a dream and looks the biz. I would say it’s the best ever Kwaka ever made. Cannot fault it other than the tyres. Just swapped out to Metzeler roadtec 01 and they feel much better. Happiest biker in the world.
Nice. As a kid I had a real hard on for KH’s and at one time or other owned the whole lot, 250,500 and the fearsome 750, brilliant triple engine coupled to a frame made out of spaghetti! My last big Kwak was the ZX10 below. Very trick, Gas forks, quick release wheels for World endurance and a breathed on motor. Scarily fast but unforgiving and had to be ridden at ten tenths or it would fire you into the undergrowth in the blink of an eye!

Any chance of posting a picture plus happy birthday
thats exciting news.
possibly you could team up with dozy as he was wetting his pants waiting on the dealers to open up again and buy a couple of new cars as well as a new bike.
you could both go for wee runs together and rub sliders with each other…
Where is that track Maoster? Is that you in the picture?

Yeah that’s me at Cartagena in Spain celebrating taking a large sum of money from a trackday punter who spent all week gobbling off that he was quicker than all of the instructors. 5 laps in I’d not only passed him but had lapped him too (hence the exuberant wheelie) strangely enough he was as quiet as a mouse after that.

ha ha nice one, I started off on a kh 250 and was hooked on kwaka from there on. never had any other makes of bikes, I was on with a few of my army chums only the other night where we were talking about how I rode my Z1 across the parade ground at buller barracks and the ssm caught me and went ballistic. Happy younger biking days. Great picture btw maoster.

Still no picture of the bike, is it all just smoke and mirrors, or is it just a fantasy, was it really your birthday or was that smoke and mirrors as well

I’ll save him the trouble of googling one…
It’s actually a picture of the massive canvas I have on my wall at home. I only keep it on the wall to ■■■■ off a good racing mate of mine who was always quicker than me but couldn’t wheelie to save his life!

Donkey, mine is the same bike, same colour too. how strange you knew my bike in the same colour. Are you stalking me? You have a real unhealthy obsession with me lately. Hows my model fridge coming along? hope you’re not wasting you’re time on here when you could be doing that.

Mate of mine is a raving nutter at wheelies, me I can’t lift the wheel an inch off the ground without terrifying myself. I like speed but prefer both wheels on the ground.
I had Suzuki ap50 , Suzuki ts250 , Kawasaki kh250 , Kawasaki kh400 , Suzuki sp370 , Kawasaki z650 , Suzuki gs1000s , Honda 250 trail bike, Honda cbr1000 , fireblade , r1 , Suzuki katana 50 cc scooter
Cars - Vauxhall’s viva , triumph 1300 x2 , ford Capri , mk3 cortina x2 , 2.3 ghia cortina & estate ( were they mk4 , so long ago can’t remember ) , Ford Fiesta x2 ( no idea model ) , Astra gte 16 v ( stolen x2 ) , Nissan primera x2 ( one gtle in that Chromeaflair paint ( green / brown / purple ( snapped the cam chain when it wasn’t meant to be possible ) , ford Mondeo, Nissan micra ( mrs needed learn , meant to be 100% reliable , fell apart ) , pug 206 gti 180 , pug 206 gti hdi , Nissan Juke x 2 , corsa vxr, fiesta st , a beige Vauxhall cavalier 1.3 I think it was , and probably some I’ve forgot for good reason
When gonerby services was Tony’s cafe I ran the Capri into a concrete flower pot when my mate said turn left after a night out !!! I ran the z650 into the back of a learner car on new beacon rd when the bloke teaching didn’t see me in mirror & did a emergency stop , I ended up on back of car , he did say sorry , blew mk3 cortina up on m69 on way up from Bristol to see mrs in Grantham
Christ I do miss all those bikes , cars , they all had a tale to tell , where have the years gone
I guess we all want to turn the clock back , I’d love a zx10r , but I think you’ve got to leave the memories behind but not forget them , I’m 58 not 20 ,
