Tesco at Fenny Lock Milton Keynes. Backed onto a bay at 09:30 with 21 pallets and I am still sat on the bay with a red light even though I was tipped 2 and half hours ago
A Maritime container backed onto a bay at 06:30 this morning and has just got his green light. I find it amazing how these shiiiite holes can find it okay for you to spend nearly a full shift sat on one of their bays without a care in the world but just you be 30 mins late for your booking slot and see the â â â â the fan!
Re opened the Fenny have they?
Used to bloody hate that reverse on goods in, tighter than a nuns chuff.
Think of all that â â â â dumurrage though , 4 hours after the two at fifty squid per hour. Double bingo Beachy.

This is the one at the side of the A5 big place, is it the same one? Be better if the dumurrage was going in my back pocket
Fenny Lock and Kiln Farm, I used to go there almost daily from Strood but now I canât remember which oneâs which. Fenny Lock about 3 miles further North up the A5?
Itâs just on the junction where the A4146 and the A5 meet near the football ground. Iâm still on a red light too
Nothing will change until HAULIERS start refusing to deliver there. Sadly, we all know that will never happen so crack on driver.
Asda doncaster is the worst for me, 2 pallets and it took em 5 hours to take em off then another to find the paperwork
Worked it out now. Itâs tâother way round then Kiln Farm is the more Northerly one. The football ground threw me because the ground and a McDâs was near the A5 but the RDC was about 2 miles the other side of the A5. But the other RDC was right alongside the A5.
It was Kiln Farm with the awkward bays though I thought?
Aghh no, kiln farm I meant with the tight reverse, fenny is hooj although was moth balled for some time.
Fenny is the one you can see from the a5, kiln farm was tucked away on an estate & looked like it had been there for fifty years.
Strood did several trunks a day to each of the MK RDCs. I took up an empty trailer to Kiln Farm as second job one day. Long wait for return trailer to finish loading. Hooked up, ABS fault so took it to VMU (workshop) âSorry canât fix it quicklyâ needs trans-shipping. Report to traffic. âOk take next scheduled one ready in half hourâ. Hooked up - something else wrong so back to VMUâŚsame answer no quick fix. Back to traffic and point out that time is now running out and must leave for Strood in next 20 mins/half hour. Nothing ready so took same empty trailer back again!
Quality cav, gotta love the firms that donât run the transport for profit
personally I would send an e mail to their head office and complain, you may get somewhere, anythings worth a try
I finally got of the bay at 18:30 a full 9 hour after I went on Had a pallet of returns to go back so had to find secure parking, Watford Gap, Red Lion and Rugby Truckstop all full got into Corley Services on the M6 with 20mins left on my spread and just arrived as another driver was leaving after finishing his break thank â â â â !
I donât mind being sat in an RDC for hours on end, but Fanny Lock is by far the worst one.
You are sat in a hell hole of a drivers room listening to all the arse lickers starting shifts after the units with fog lights, not sure why but maritime drivers seem to only ever run with the front fogâs on? are they all blind?
Long walk round for a â â â â and no access to canteen facility (Officially speaking, but I still use them whilst going to the toilet)

Kiln Farmâs all closed now, Nobrats had it after Tosco left & went & built Fanny Lock. I understand that Kiln Farm used to leak like a sieve (thatâs one of the reasons why Tosco left it in 2006) the tight bays were round the front, great fun getting on them, especially the one nearest the ramp on the way out.
Nobrats used to run L & G TVâs/electricals out of there, I did a few shifts for them on the agency 3 years ago, then they did beer/drinks for a couple of years (Iâm guessing it was whitbredâs)
I drove past there about 6 weeks ago & it was deserted, like the Mary Celest, even the main gates were swinging in the wind with no one around (although theyâre locked now) I reckon that they will demolish it & build yet another Brand New Empty Warehouse to leave empty, with our pension funds.
I delivered to Kiln Farm within the last 8 months⌠Certainly has been open between 2006 and now, never forget them bays
Nobbies for Tescos Didcot.
Hours and Hours on the bay, with me âOrderedâ to sit in the cooler with the other 30 odd drivers in a room about 12 foot square.
F⌠that! I thought. I left my cab open, got back in it, and drew my curtains.
Big mistake. Theyâve got a yard marshall who goes around trying to catch people sneaking back into their cabs, and gave me a right telling off, with examples of all the âdrive off offencesâ I could commit whilst sitting on a downhill (to the door) bay, with no keys, and my red airline already taken off by myself.
I take sensible H&S very seriously indeed. I donât have any truck (no pun intended) for those who want to give me their own dictatorial version of what THEY consider to be âsafe working practiceâ.
If I never go back to that craphole - itâll be too soon.

Correction, this is the place I was thinking of
