Toddington Services Northbound this afternoon - two fully grown men almost coming to blows (they did get as far as a bit of pushing & shoving, with one of them sticking his face out saying “Go on - take a swing and I’ll put you in intensive care!” with a whole load of verbals, threats and so on thrown into the mix). What had caused this major upset? One of them had the temerity to leave his lorry on the pumps while he went in to pay for his fuel, thus delaying the other guy by a good 2 or three minutes

I’ll be glad when we get another cool, wet day…
Well it wasn’t an infirmary I suppose. It’s called the inner chimp.

And there I was hoping to see a pic of some nice totty!
wrong website chap, try using Google instead
OK, back on topic.
I always try to pull forward if there is an appropriate place to pull up, but that often isn’t the case. I also worked in a fuel station many many years ago, and it can get a bit confusing when it’s busy and you have multiple pumps with more than one account on it. The guy waiting really needs to turn his air-con up and chill out, it’s not like the guy was taking a 15 by the sound of it!
What a complete tool. As the above says, you can’t always pull forward while you go in and pay. It does amaze me how people can get so wound up over something so small. He needs to take a look at stuff that’s going on around the country and world before he starts getting wound up at that!
Not just confined to service stations. There were some roadworks setting up outside our yard today, and the gang parked some of their vehicles in our entrance. I pulled up and told a bloke in a van that I needed to get into our yard and he came out with all this ■■■■■■■■ about “our work plan says we have to park here.” I pointed out the “keep clear in use 24 hours” sign (it’s a crash gate for Kidlington airport) and he said “I can’t move unless the supervisor tells me.” I switched my engine off and sat there, holding up traffic until someone walked over and bollocked the bolshy jobsworth and apologised to me. Why do people have to be so awkward?
