dhl advertising for trainess on the doors of their trailers
Its called bolting the stable door after the horse has gone. A lot of these big outfits have relied on Drivers to pay for their own tuition, instead of investing in training for the future. Not many big retailers have “in house” transport these days, they have over the years contracted out to the likes of Stobart etc etc who have “cut each others throats”,alas paid crap wages to make a contract viable. Now its come back to bite them, the type of work is OK its the name of the Company and its working conditions that puts decent Drivers off. They have to rely on “newbies” with minimal experience to get the jobs covered.
Note even a penny more than minimum wage. The reputation of Pollock as a low payer continues… Two years on £8.91 lol, you would probably be out on your own within a week of passing.
Gist, XPO, Waitrose, DHL, Yodel and Culina all offering similar schemes.

To be fair all the big companies have to pay into the apprenticeship levy so they might as well get some of their money back
If I were 45 years younger and lived near by I would go for it. To me it looks similar to the way that the bus firms address training.
