Music you may not have heard

Yeah a good version of The Kinks hit.

Here’s another Kinks cover from The Stranglers’’ this time
'‘All day and all of the night’

Speaking of The Stranglers…here’s my favourite Stranglers track…
‘Peaches’ :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Ganna loose a bit of credibility and kudos here😂

A bit of a curveball…ying and yang to The Stranglers in fact.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I just lurrve this track…brings back some good memories as a young lad.
Listen to lyrics…how many of you have had to confront wife/girlfriend after seeing an ex :joy:
He gets away with it…smooth talking ALWAYS works.:joy:

Another underrated singer songwriter…
Dean Friedman.

The Top 20 charts of Summer 1972 were full of decent memorable tunes.
Even the Eurovision contest produced Apres Tois/Come What May by Vicky Leandros.
It’s a shame that the efforts of Glitter’s band playing Rock and Roll parts 1and 2 unfortunately got overshadowed and tainted by having him onboard.

A very spirited performance of the same song!

Medicine Head

My youngest daughter always says that the track ‘R&R parts 1 & 2’ are the soundtrack to me walking into a pub with each of my 2 big lads either side of me looking like a pound shop gangster with 2 minders.:joy:
Don’t ask me why, it’s just that her sense of humour is even more weirder than mine.

Shame it had to be Gary Glitter of all people.:joy:

More Summer of '72.

Did someone tell Ketch to bring a bit more energy for this one?

60 years ago this became an overnight sensation when a DJ got hold of the only rough take and played it: the station was inundated with requests to hear it again. It is as relevant today as it was then, but we have learned nothing in that time.

This puzzled me, a near 50 year old song gets a new video shot. Guess it makes sense somehow.

Carl Abraham Ellis (he’s British))

I’m not convinced any of you will remember this from the 70’s.

It’s not a song that I’m familiar with ^^ but as a man who’s dated many “adventurous “ ladies it’s a lament I’m well familiar with :joy:

DJ Rob’s ‘Last dance numbers’'…or ‘‘The Erection Section’’ as I called it then.

Records to smoooch to before you walked the girl you chose home.

Start off with an oldie from Captain and Tennile.

Don’t look any further for bit of classic soul from the old master the late Dennis Edwards of The Temptations.

Voice of an angel Deniece Williams.

Classic George Michael…Different corner.
(I used to share the same hairstyle at that time btw :joy:)

So get out yer bottle of White Zinfandel, turn the lights down and sit on the lounge sofa with your wife or girlfriend’s head on yer shoulder (or somebody elses wife or girlfruend ) listen to these tracks, and watch her come around and get in the mood.. .for lurrrve. :joy:
You’re welcome.:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
