Aaaaargh I’m too old,sob1sob1sob1     :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :astonished: :astonished:

Thats an American chart!,

Even though it starts at 1975 I know people like The Sweet, Slade, Gary Glitter, T rex, David Bowie, Mud, Glitterband, Bay city Rollers :open_mouth: Wizzard etc, etc were still churning out hits in 1975, how come they ain’t on there■■? If it was a Brit Chart they would be!, just look at the Muppets on those listings, I reckon half of 'em never had a hit in the UK ever! Cuz most of that 1970’s American music was nothing but mishy, mushy safe middle of the road drivel, the only Americanst I remember that really had it sussed were the likes of Alice Cooper, MC5, Kiss and Lou Reed, everything else sucked!

Yeah, I know I’m ■■■■■■ off because my last year at school (1974) ain’t on there, but if it was and it was a British chart then all the above would be on there and then some… Judge Dread, Suzi Quatro, Cockney Rebel, Showaddywaddy, ELO, Cozy Powell, Alvin Stardust, Elton John, Rod Stewart, 10CC, Barry Blue, Geordie ( remember them?) yeah, the list is endless, apart from Suzi Q they were/are all Brits, granted some of 'em were’nt my cup of tea but they were always in the charts throughout 1973-1976 that was the real Glam rock days, and most of who I’ve mentioned were in or on the Glam rock bandwagon…then along came Punk!

Anyone remember one of the bands I mentioned ’ Geordie’ they had about 4-5 hits, they were on the EMI record label ( the old red & gold one ) does anyone know who the singer of Geordie is singing for now? ( clue, he now lives in Florida) and his first name begins with ’ B ’

I’ll be checking answers sometime this weekend

And his second name begins with J and the bands name is just 4 letters is it not Cliff? He replaced the original singer of this band after he died, most likely from over indulgence of alcohol.

Class of 89. :sunglasses:

Yes you are most certainly right Mr Coffee! Brian Johnson is his name and AC/DC is the band, which by my reckoning makes them only half Aussie now…sorry Boots and Skippy!

No probs Cliff  It goes both ways with "Our"singing budgie Kylie Minogue now classed as a Brit, you can keep her music but we keep the pin up pictures of her…
it s very popular Down under to claim o/seas born performers as Aussies,Split Enz/Crowded House-Kiwis,Jimmy Barnes-Scottish,Men At Work(Colin Hayes)-Scottish,Rolf Harris-English,and movie stars Mel Gibson-American,Russell Crowe-Kiwi etc etc.Its just like the English cricket and Olympic teams,a few Aussies in there as well.

1984 was a great year for music.

I’m class of 76 as well Coffee, though I did stay on an extra year to do highers. Total waste of time, I failed them both :frowning: :frowning:
