Just what was he thinking? I know some city centre stores you do actually go up ramps to the goods in yard and the ramps look like you shouldn’t be going up them. But 1/ the first time you went you’d stop and go for a walk to check wouldn’t you and 2/ it’s an ncp car park, not even a supermarket one where there’s a small chance the yard could be
Rock-it cargo has a similar ramp. Only done it in daylight , would not fancy it at night.
Got a timed delivery and theres someone blocking the loading bay, so doing what the boss said and using his / her initiative.
They didn’t do a very good job as they can reverse out of that. If they’d got half way up and maybe needed a crane, then I’d be impressed.
Trying to deliver Harry Potter, Enid Blyton and Road Dahl in one go was never going to end well.
I have been up quite a few spiral ramps like that to deliver to shopping centres, in an artic - significantly wider ones obviously.
Solihull Touchwood. Their delivery area is up a ramp as well. Significantly wider than this one, but still up a ramp onto the top of the building.
There are a few others, but all it takes is one mistake turn and you’re screwed.
Brunel Centre in Swindon is the one I was thinking of with proper corkscrew ramps like that fairly tight/steep in a loaded artic.
Kingston upon thames, and he is going in the right entrance probably as it does say service entrance.

Staines M&S up a ramp on top of shopping centre also with a multistorey carpark next door… what were these architects thinking!!!
That lorry drivers would obviously be able to tell the difference■■?
The other drivers get in no problem…

Wouldt like.meet someone coming out unless it’s a one way system
Loading out of Van Vliet’s in Holland was an eye opener on top of the flower market went up couldn’t see what all the fuss was about, however coming down you then saw what all the fuss was about, the trick being to aim the leading edge of the trailer at the concrete pillars and than at the last moment turn away.
obviously not a stobart delivery otherwise he would be reversing down in a flat.

Ever done Rue de Gabian in Monte Carlo? Being M.C. they change the one way systems more often than some change their socks, and suicide by moto is a wide spread ambition. Entry to underground warehouse is under a multi-storey bloc. It is signed as a Platforme de Fret, but anyone who doesnt have doubts the first time is probably foolish. Very tight for an artic, scrapes everywhere. t have many escape routes. And no chance of stopping anywhere in M.C. to go walkabout and check it out.

Simple solution would be to get some instruction from the planning team and information about tricky drops actually being communicated to drivers to tell them where to go.
From memory: Wilkos Blackpool loading bay is in the multi story carpark, Sainsbury’s crystal peaks Sheffield bay is in top of the building

At our place we normally get a written list of collections by email. If we arrive and note any problems we can tell the office who should put notes on that file for the next driver. (ex: north of low bridge/inside weight limit/don`t go in weight limit/reverse in only) This relies on the office updating addresses, etc, and drivers taking the trouble to tell the office too!
.
Telling the office where to go is part of the job.
There was a place in Paris just like that, you drove up two or three floors and could park on the roof, also used to be loading bays on each floor, used to do customs there, I think it was owned by Calbisons, very hairy…

But surely regardless or all this if you arrived there and looked and thought, but that ramp doesn’t look like an artic will go up, you’d stop and have a walk first?
